I’m going to point at a bone. Tell me its name.” I pointed. “Leg!” he said confidently. “Femur,” I corrected under my breath. I moved my finger lower. “Low femur!” he said. I groaned. “Tibia,” I said. “Fibula is on the other side.”

A leg bone, from the surface, was almost rotten! The moment Samuel saw the bones on the legs, he thought of the skull he had obtained on Earth. He could not prove that the two bones belonged to the same body, but the feeling they brought to him was exactly the same. Samuel took a deep breath. The skull had already merged with him.
