"So, it's like a relic black market kinda thing?" I inquired.

My thoughts flickered to Jessica, still buzzing my phone, completely unaware of the danger I was in. “Please,” Caldwell whispered, his voice barely audible. “We have to do something.” “There’s nothing we can do,” I replied, my voice flat with defeat. “Just keep your head down and pray they don’t shoot.” One of the thieves grabbed the museum manager by his collar and hauled him to his feet. The manager's glasses slipped down his nose, his face a mask of terror. "Start packing up 'The Starlit Night,' 'Eclipse of the Sun,' and 'The Silent Watcher,'" the thief barked, jabbing the barrel of his gun into the manager's ribs. "Or you'll end up like your security."

I stared blankly at the window furiously arguing and debating with myself if I should embark on this mission. I’d decided to put an end to all these sorts of crimes but again, this one involves huge sum of money. “I don’t think we should do this, Amelia.” My inner wolf cautioned. I was hired on a mission to steal an original copy of a gold artefact in the National museum which is way secured. The hardest part is that the gold artefact is the only copy in the whole world.

And one very important encrypted sculpture piece from a Santoro-funded artist. “Shit,” I whispered. “We’re being robbed.” Within seconds, the hall filled with panicked footsteps and alarms. Lucia’s voice came through the staff comms: “Bridgette, someone just hacked the secure room. Cameras are down. I need eyes in now.”

Several guards came rushing to the storage house with one of the ministers. "No, no, no!" the minister yelled in despair as he watched the storage being eaten by fire. He was about to check on his collection but suddenly found his storage on fire. The weapons he tried so hard to collect in secret were inside the storage and if the fire was not put out immediately, they'd be damaged. Plus, it would be discovered since everyone thought that it was storage of woods, not illegally acquired weapons.

You read the records while you organised the books. ‘I can’t resist.’ I tried on a huge, innocent smile to beg for forgiveness and the handsome beast’s gaze darkened a shade. ‘What else did you get from your reading?’ I swallowed hard and clapped the crumbs of my hands. ‘Something that didn’t add up to what I got from my family’s records.’ Ralph raised a brow. ‘The theft?’
