The two of us walk around the grocery section heading in the direction of the snack aisle, standing in front of the products on display. "What should we get?" I immediately enthusiastically headed to the pantry, I already had thoughts and imaginations of what snacks to bring later. Anyway, the stock in the pantry is a lot, there are choco pies, there are biscuits, to cookies with a mixture of choco chips and chunks of cheese. Well, all of that stock is still too much, which is almost exhausting for that light snack that has a lot of nicotine. I don't know why people here love the ones with lots of junk food. The sweet, chocolate-style ones don't sell well.

Neva asked, holding up a family-sized bag of cheese puffs. “Snacks!” Calla said brightly. “No,” Neva said, and put them on a nearby shelf. A moment later, Calla returned with three different kinds of chocolate bars. “For energy!” she argued. “Junk,” Neva stated, and placed them next to the cheese puffs. “You are no fun,” Calla pouted, but her eyes were laughing. She disappeared again and came back with a box of sugary cereal. “It has vitamins! See?” she said, pointing at the box.

“And if it’s too much, we’ve got snacks and wine. That makes everything easier.” Settling in, I open the book and let them begin explaining the chapters. As Lilly and Luna start outlining the story so far, I can’t help but feel a mix of amusement and curiosity. A hen night turned book club, with a dark, strange novel at its center. It’s definitely not what I expected, but it’s already more fun than I thought it would be.

She made her way to the door and left without looking back. The War of the Snacks was still going strong. Callie was sneaking snacks to Nicholas away from the gaze of his possessive girlfriend. She sneaked boxes of cookies and brownies to him between classes. She brought bags of chips and bars of chocolate to his room when his roommate wasn’t around.

She smiled. “Sounds like a good way to follow André’s ‘orders’ of relaxing and spending time together.” I agreed. “Okay. Well, would you mind making some snacks? I know we just ate, but I’m still hungry, and you barely ate. Plus, we both threw up.” She pointed out. “Is popcorn with hazelnut M&M’s still your go-to snack for watching shows and movies?” I asked, remembering the odd combination she always ate when we’d watch the show.

Finally, I grab a box of twelve mixed-flavor bars and tuck them under my arm. Crackers are easier—kind of. I go for two sleeves of the saltine kind, then change my mind and grab one saltine and one whole wheat. I find a jar of peanut butter on the next shelf over and hold it in my hands for a moment. The weight of it feels comforting, solid. I add it to the growing bundle. Next is water.

I walked into the main cafeteria that doubled as a store and grabbed a basket. I took my time going through the store first. The mini fridge I brought should be down to temperature and needed to be stocked. I grabbed an array of drinks, water, sodas, chocolate milk. Then I moved on to snacks. I had already decided to turn the top shelf of my desk into a small pantry for shelf snacks. I grabbed crackers, chips, sweet cakes, and a few apples and bananas.

After that, I locked the door and eagerly followed him. WE ARE ALL SET and ready to watch N*****x. The girls decided to watch Mean Girls. Well, I don’t mind, and the boys don’t either. We’re all sitting on the floor. Each of us has our own snacks. There are also three cartons of popcorn. The mini table contains the drinks and finger foods I baked earlier. There are also bottles of Bacardi and Vodka, fresh lemons, and ice cubes in a stainless container.

“All my Skittles fell out of their bag, and fuck, there’s a hole in the bottom of my backpack.” His snack was gone. The horror on his face was so priceless I had to laugh. “Whoops,” I said. “Sucks to be you.” With a satisfied sigh, I leaned back against the bench’s backrest and logged back into my game. A second later, Brick nudged my leg. “Hey. Did you bring anything to eat?” “Nope.” I had a Snickers stashed in my pocket for later. “Damn,” he breathed under his breath. “Language,” I sang as I powered up with a mushroom.
