I stared around the place, everywhere was littered with garbage, the air stinked of cigarettes and waste. Some hoodlums hanged around some buildings looking like hungry dogs. I walked past them as they looked on. I entered an alley and pushed a garbage can out of the way, revealing a trap door. I opened the lock with a key and opened the door. The door had stairs that led underground. I climbed down the stairs after making sure the door was shut. I turned on my phone flash light and searched for the light switch on the wall. I found it and turned the bulb on making the room lit up. This underground house is my personal hideout. I keep photos of my victims here.

He wanted to reach his dreams no matter what life brought his way. “We are supernatural. I read about other creatures, dummies.” He joked. “Ha, ha, ha.” Elijah laughed. “Please, can we concentrate? I hate doing this.” Beckham affirmed. “Sure. I will take that,” Colby took the thick book with a black leather cover and a gold star drawn in front of it. “It doesn't have an author.” He recognized it when he grasped the book. “Are we into vampire or witch hunting?” Beckham grumbled.

A hidden compartment opened up behind the goblet, revealing a small book that looked untouched for years. Claude's heart raced with excitement as she pulled the book out of its hiding place. It was bound in leather and had gold lettering on its cover. She turned to Nuella, who had noticed the pendant's glimmer as well. "Look at this," Claude said, holding up the book. "I wonder what it contains." Nuella's eyes widened with curiosity as she took the book from Claude's hands. "Let's take this to my room," she said. "We can read it there."

I move to the next row, forcing myself to focus on something else. But the image lingers. The feeling won’t let go. Eventually, I turn back. My eyes fall on the same hidden edge. I stare at it longer this time. Why would he guard something so tightly? My heart pounds in my ears as I step closer. My fingers reach for the small groove—and after a few failed attempts, the compartment clicks open. Inside is… a book? Just a book? My brows pull together as I lift it out. The cover is plain, worn. No title. No markings.

"Come on, Sebastian. You can trust me. I won't stop until I uncover your little secret." Sebastian's resolve wavered, a mixture of amusement and anticipation evident on his face. With a resigned sigh, he retrieved the hidden object from behind his back and extended it towards Hailee, his eyes meeting hers in an intense gaze. Hailee's breath hitched as she beheld the exquisite bookmark, intricately designed and tailored to suit her taste. Its delicate craftsmanship spoke volumes, whispering of the care and thought that had gone into its creation. Her fingers grazed the smooth surface, tracing the patterns with reverence.

Taz turn on a small torchlight which he had taken along with him before sneaking inside the sacred library. Every book in the library was about the blood moon beast. Despite the alikeness of all the books, there was a particular one that caught Taz's attention. It was a grey book with ancient inscriptions. He pulled it out, dusted it and hid it inside his garment and hurried out of the hidden room. Unknown to Taz, as he walked out of the room through the secret door and out of the library, the secret room disappeared and there was no secret library there anymore.

“We’ll talk about that later. There’s something I want to show you first.” “What is it?” “My demons.” The words send a chill through her, but she follows him as he leads her back into the library. He walks to one of the shelves and pulls out a green leather-bound book. The shelf groans, then swings open, revealing a hidden passage. Her stomach twists. “Noah, what is this?” “Follow me,” he says, not looking back. The hidden room is dark, making Noah flip a switch, and the room is bathed in a deep blue glow. At first glance, it seems unremarkable. But then her eyes land on the far wall.

Sienna The suffocating silence of the bar seemed to press down on my chest like a physical weight, making it incredibly hard to draw a full breath. I slowly pulled my hand back out of the hidden compartment beneath the dark marble counter, my knuckles scraping lightly against the wood of the interior frame. Wrapped securely in my trembling fingers wasn't a stash of unmarked cash, a black ledger, or a modern weapon. It was just a book. A thick, heavy, dust-jacketed volume that had been tucked away into the hollowed-out space of the bar.

Leonard must have figured me out by now. He knew I was the type who acted shy on the outside but had secret desires underneath. After a few moments of teasing, he pulled me into another round, and we kept going until we were both completely worn out. When I was ready to leave, he insisted that I did not put my underwear back on. He said he wanted to keep it as a souvenir. I did not want to, but I could not argue with him, so I just did what he said. My stockings were already torn, so I could not wear those either. I took them off and went home wearing only my skirt.

Didn’t fit the way he moved. But like the robe— it had value. That went into his inventory as well. Then his attention shifted. Two items remained. Both separate from the rest. Both immediately different. He reached for the first. A book. Its surface shifted slightly under his fingers, not unstable, but not entirely solid either, as though it existed somewhere between physical and something else. The markings across it held just enough that he could read them. Skill Book. Riley’s grip tightened slightly. He didn’t try to open it here, didn’t push it, but even without doing anything else, he knew this was something that would change how he fought.
