This book is about coding. You wouldn’t understand though your brother……” “Who muma?” “Nothing, Let’s find an interesting book to read,” Sarah said picking her up. Arnold watched them as they moved along the shelves browsing through the numerous books, his surprise all forgotten. When Arnold couldn’t contain himself anymore he said, “Don’t you want to know what the surprise is?”

The book that was displayed on a stand next to the photo was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Meredith froze. She had been having very weird dreams that she was in Alice’s place falling through the rabbit hole and landing in a strange room. Why did Brayden have this specific book displayed? Meredith’s breath quickened and she felt the room begin to spin. She didn’t understand her dreams and she didn’t understand why Brayden had this book on his bookshelf. She knew it was all coincidental but it was also very freaky and she was becoming short of breath.

As I gazed down at the open page, I saw that it was filled with strange symbols and markings. They seemed to dance across the page, shimmering with a soft, ethereal light. I felt a surge of wonder and curiosity. What did these symbols mean? And what secrets did they hold?

Curiosity continuously gnaws at my heart. Pushing the door open, I gasped loudly at the books on different shelves. Surprisingly, it is an in-house library. What caught my attention the most was the large book with a strange cover and unreadable writings, sitting pretty on a book stand. It made me wonder why it was a standalone and not on the shelf like the others. Glancing back at the door, I felt the urge to back away, but I stayed back.

“Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ” He shrugged, flipping another page. “I keep telling you not to judge me with your assumptions.” “I'm sorry if my assumptions don't fit your personality,” I said, taking the seat across from him. “Why this book?” I asked, stealing the opportunity to know what the real Kael is like. “I like books that… make me think. And this one does.” “Think about what?” I asked, hoping my curiosity wasn't obvious. “Is this some sort of interview?” he asked, placing the book on the table without closing it.

Just the soft rustle of pages and the comforting scent of old books. Only in stories, he thought, could he travel across oceans, through time, into the hearts of strangers without moving an inch, without lifting a finger. It was within ink and parchment that he found the most vivid adventures. Adventures that never asked him to sacrifice his stillness in exchange for wonder. And so, with his limbs weary but his mind slowly awakening, Arnav reached for a book. The kind of book that didn’t just pass the time, but gently stitched a man back together.
