The morning started off like any other, with the sharp ring of my phone cutting through the quiet of my office. It was barely 8 AM, and the sun had just begun its ascent in the sky, casting long shadows across my desk. I’d barely had time to finish my coffee when I saw Dominic’s name flash on the screen.

She walked over to her sitting on the bed. "Wake up Sleepy head." She said softly, shaking Claire lightly. Claire groaned, stretching a little bit. Her golden hair tangled around her. "Come on, it's morning, silly." Morgan chuckled, shaking her harder. "Ugh fine." She groaned sitting up. "You sleep good?" Morgan asked her. "Yeah I always sleep good here always." Claire smiled brightly. It tugged at Morgan's heart a little bit. Morgan stood her eyes going to the desk again. She needed to find a way to talk to him about the alternate route.

Maya Monday morning, my alarm goes off at 5:30 AM—too early, but I’d set it anyway, determined to be the first one in the office. I roll out of bed, my muscles still sore from dancing in heels at the party, and shuffle to the kitchen to make coffee. The apartment is too quiet. My dad usually calls on Sunday nights, but his number hasn’t popped up on my phone in three days. I push the thought down and focus on pouring hot water over the grounds.

Despite his weariness, his body led him to sleep, for he was tired of his long journey that day. “Hey, brother. Come on, get up. Mama and papa ask you to join us for our breakfast,” Hea Bum said while knocking on his door. Jim Han suddenly awake. He could barely open his eyes, for he was still sleepy, and his body was aching. “Huh? What time is it?” Jim Han answered to his surprised. “You do not know the time yet? It is now eight in the morning. Come on, get out of your room. They are waiting,” Hea Bum bid him again.

I opened my eyes, the rusty ceiling and the faint smell of dirt on my room greeting me an early morning. I got up from my dirty mattress which is my bed and walked towards the tilted window allowing the sun to shine all over me. The early birds chirping outside greeting me on the starting of the day. "AMARA" my mom shouted warning me to wake up and get started with my work. I sighed. Already knowing that the day will be a hectic one.

The intoxication I couldn’t get enough of. The morning was sweet and peaceful, carrying with it the promise of a new beginning. The dawn’s first light streamed in through the window, casting a gentle, warm hue across the room. The air was fresh and crisp, filled with the faint aroma of blooming flowers and dew-covered grass with the birds chirping melodiously outside. I took in a deep breath of satisfaction. I couldn’t ask for a better morning.
