The stretch of space outside was still empty. The house was silent. She took a deep breath, her nerves steeling, and then she made her decision. She closed the door firmly this time, a little faster than before, and returned to the desk with purpose, her heart pounding in her chest. She reached out with a shaking hand, grasping the rosary and the strange book tucked underneath the file. As she pulled them free, she noticed how worn and peculiar the book looked, its leather cover cracked and aged. She turned it over in her hands, and her eyes widened slightly at the title embossed on the back:

It led me to a door in the middle of the abyss. The door stood solid in front of me as the whisp passed through it and disappeared.

I finally said as I was passed into Javi’s arms. “I’m so fucking sorry baby, I’m so--” “Shh,” I cut him off. The darkness came again. I was in the dark again, like the time I saw Noora years ago. But there was nothing, just darkness. I tried yelling for someone, but there was nothing. What the hell did this mean? I thought about what Noora said in the first dream, and it all made sense. The prize was the bomb, I knew that now, and I never took my eyes off it, and maybe I was meant to see it through.

I replied back as I stretched my hands to remove the painting but it didn’t move, instead it slid and revealed a medium sized box. I took the box out and placed it on the desk. It was an old mahogany box with gold engravings on it. “Sinclair” I opened it carefully and revealed a very thick brown greenish book with about 200 pages made of parchment or something like and had the title written on it with big bold handwriting: “BOOK OF SHADOWS” I smiled happily, I couldn’t believe that I had it in my hands and looked at Kevin who was still anxious saying: “We found it” he nodded his head and was about to speak when we suddenly heard an applause behind us.

The closer we got the more I could feel the darkness seeping from the book. 'That's the shadow book. Our contracts can be found in that book. They can be made and broken through that book. Make sure no one ever finds it here. They'll want to take it.' Shade informed me. I stepped closer, really curious now. I laid my hand over the glass, peering down at the book and reading the Latin words umbra. The book opened beneath the glass when I spoke the word. It flipped to a page with Shade's name on it. Nobody's POV In the basement, the Shadows loaded their guns, put on some gloves, and protected their heads, bodies, and legs. And they were very much ready for movement. The time was 4:32pm. They headed out, driving speedily on the highways like they owned the town. Of course they did. The two huge lorries followed the SUVs. When they got to Dock Twelve, the yard appeared deadened with silence. They say silence is the calm before the storm. But in the world of Shadows, silence usually means someone’s already dead, or about to be.

I shuddered. The old woman laughed. “Not just any man.” She corrected. “You.” She shoved back some of her shawls, revealing a threadbare bag. She pulled from it, yet another shawl. “With this, you will be able to follow the princesses as they journey through the dark, to their deadly destination.” “But you can’t just tell me where they go each night?” I frowned, taking the shawl, and turning it over in my hands. “And how will this help?”
