"Let's run." The bristles from the underbrush rubbed against her fur. The smells fascinated her wolf. Everything was different. Her legs gained a sense of balance and she didn't feel clumsy like the first time she changed outdoors. She let her wolf take over and guide her. They ate a large dinner and then Brandt continued reading from his wild book. His voice reverberated gently around her. She watched his fingers turn the pages and the muscles change in his face. The inflection of each sentence flowed with the story. She closed her eyes and imagined her wolf.

“You did nothing wrong.” Her pulse refused to slow. The Northern Wolves. The book. She had taken it without understanding why, back when escape had been all instinct and terror. Taken it from Lucian’s study, heart racing as if it already knew it mattered. It told a history Wildbourne never taught. Wolves as balance. Hunters as something broken long ago. Some nights she believed it completely. Other nights, she feared it was dangerous just to read. It had become Ever’s favourite story. Now she knelt in the sandpit, holding Ever close, eyes darting as the ground beneath them seemed to hum.

I threw the blanket over him, too, encouraging him to stay close. After I read the book, Everett didn’t want to waste any time. He showed me the rest of his library and the cabin, and then he was determined for us to do as much as we possibly could. We went for a hike, had a picnic, and watched and admired the animals and nature around us—it was only then that I realised how much more connected I had become with nature and the earth; the more I came in touch with my wolf.

"What? Riley, what are you—" "LEAVE!" I bellowed. I reached the perimeter fence. I reached out my hand to grab the wire. I was going to go back in. I was going to save them. Then, the world turned white. BOOM! A roar like a thousand lions tore through the air. The ground jumped beneath my feet. A wave of heat slammed into my chest, throwing me backward. I hit the dirt hard. The air was sucked out of my lungs. I looked up, gasping for breath. The warehouse was gone. In its place was a towering pillar of orange fire and black smoke. Debris rained down like hailstones of fire.

Odd things that reminded me of a voodoo parlor. I didn’t touch any of those. No, what drew me in was a book at the far end. It was almost as if the book itself was calling my name, leading me towards it. I was a moth to a flame. By the time I stood right in front of it, I realized that the book was encased in glass. Curiously, I touched the glass, hoping I would find a way to open it but the second my skin made a contact, the glass shattered. Ryker who had been standing beside me quickly pulled me back. “What the bloody hell is that?”

I grabbed my keys and ran. The ride felt endless. I pushed my bike harder than I ever had before, weaving through traffic without caring who got in my way. Every mile felt like torture. Every second I imagined Lily lying there alone. Please… Just hold on. As I rounded the final bend, I saw smoke rising into the sky before the wrecked van came into view. Club bikes surrounded the scene. The area had already been locked down. I killed the engine before the bike had completely stopped and sprinted toward the wreck.

Lexie’s eyes widened at his question, and she quickly turned to look at him as if saying "Are you serious?" Ram then smiled at her playfully and said— “I am.” A few moments later, Lexie smiled as well. Without another word, she grabbed his hand and led him down a winding path, ignoring his mischievous chuckle. “I can hear the waterfall.” Ram whispered excitedly, making her giggle. “Yes, we’re almost there.” She said, smiling as she heard the sound of rushing water and birds chirping. A few more steps, and they were greeted by a breathtaking paradise.

“Oh, please, Charles, I have so much to do right now and I don’t have the stomach to digest your stupid accusations or lectures. Believe me, that’s something I don’t need.” “How come can you be so cold-hearted? Are you insane? You sent someone to kill people like you had sent him to hunt some bunnies!” “Why don’t you make me a solid, ah?” “Valeria, you’re a damn murde-” “Get the hell out of here if you’re not here to give me solutions!” “You’re crazy! You’re crazy, Valeria!” Then, Charles went out. When he closed the door behind him, Charles gave himself a minute to breathe normally. He was indeed fearing that wild woman, not, she was no longer a woman, she could no longer be a human being…

"The Great Demise: The Fall of the Moon Goddess" I turn to the first page, thankful for the late afternoon light that stretches in through the broken roof above me. Skimming over the words, I decide I should take the book back with me to read it more in-depth. The inscription in the beginning tells me that it is the history of the Alaskan pack, which is exactly why I came here. Shoving the book into my backpack, I pull the straps tight onto my shoulders before carefully stepping out of the rubble at my feet until I am outside. Going downhill takes much less time than going uphill, and I make it to the broken truck in no time.

They landed on the booklet the owner handed Flora earlier and flew away again. Flora did not move her sight away from the two visitors she had in her room until they left and grabbed that booklet. She sat up straight and closed her eyes. "God, please send e the right person to guide me in this place," she heartily prayed. She was hoping to have her break fun and totally stress-free. She needs to have a good companion to make it happen. Flora took a deep breath, and with her eyes closed, she opened the book. She slowly opened her eyes.
