“Yeah, swimming’s my thing. I don’t like beaches, too many people. So I built my own sanctuary.”
“You designed this?”
“Designed it. Built it. Every inch,” he replied, pride seeping into his voice.
Hot, grumpy, and handy. Dangerous.
The place was breathtaking, clear water, landscaped gardens, a breeze carrying the scent of flowers and earth. I closed my eyes, letting the calm wash over me. For the first time in a long time, I felt... still.
“You’re going to fall asleep standing there,” Ram teased.
I smiled, eyes still closed. “Don’t ruin it. I never feel this calm. Back home, it’s just noise and fumes.”
