She turned and felt the same gaze again but tried to ignore it and started looking around at the shelves, while both boys smirked at each other and looked at her backside with dirty gazes. Their faces look proud to get her back. Rebecca, realizing their gazes, tried to find books fast, but at last, could not find the books. She turned back to look at both boys whose eyes still had the same beast gaze. Rebecca senses their sights trying to speak less.

I focused my attention back on the novel and leaned back on the couch to make myself comfortable. As I kept on reading about Rebecca’s innocence in her early days of marriage I couldn’t help but feel bad about her. She really did love her husband. I remember reading about all the criticism the writer once faced when she wrote this book. Many people pointed out Rebecca as a weak naïve stupid girl whereas in reality she was only blindly devoted to Maxim. I often refrained from reading classic English literature. Most of them were too depressing for my taste and already depressed self. That’s why I loved modern romance books. They were more interesting and focused on reality more.

The afternoon sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, illuminating the study desk full of books and notes. Rebecca sat holding a light-blue diary with a small lock on the side. She had found it in the desk drawer two days ago, and since then she couldn’t stop reading it. The writing on its pages was filled with Ellya’s daily stories. About how much she loved her Mommy and Daddy, how spoiled she was, and how she always felt protected. Rebecca flipped through the pages, brushing her eyes that were starting to moisten. “Ellya, you were truly loved. Your Mommy, your Daddy, they loved you without limits. You’re lucky,” she whispered softly.

Rebecca was disappointed as she immediately left the room. "Roselle?" Rebecca entered Roselle's room. The girl who was busy reading a novel halted. "What's with the gloomy face?" Roselle sat up, throwing the book to a corner at her bed. Sighting Rebecca, she could tell that something was wrong even if it wasn't serious.

The curtains had been washed and fixed, drawn back and the rays of the setting sun now softened the deep blue of the velvet chair beneath the reading lamp. She stepped inside slowly, not sure what she was even looking for. Everything had been so carefully preserved, and yet it all felt different. Rebecca moved around the desk and pulled open the side drawer she hadn’t touched in years. Her fingers paused on a slim, spiral-bound notebook with childish stickers peeling along the front. Alecia’s handwriting was unmistakable, etched across the top in ink and glitter pen was; This book is private!! If you’re not me, CLOSE IT!

I admitted. Earlier she made me feel so strange. All I wanted to do was hold her and kiss her so passionately until I was satisfied. I craved her and not any other woman. Her body, lips, smell, and voice just made me go crazy. I have never seen these in a woman. I admit I had so many girls earlier on but none of them were beautiful like Rebecca, she had her beauty and was also hardworking. All those qualities were in this single lady, and I was going crazy over her.

The darkening night did not make Rebecca close her eyes quickly, she was waiting for news from her subordinates. The middle-aged woman stood at the lip of the window with her gaze far ahead at the darkness of the pine forest. "Where are you, my daughter, even your scent is beyond my reach," Rebecca murmured. Rebecca continued to widen her vision and sense of smell. Feeling less free, she quickly jumped onto the roof tiles. Her head moved to the right and left with her nose flaring to breathe in the blowing air.

It seemed like he was going crazy. After all Rebecca was even more beautiful and feminist than she thought. It was truth he felt attracted by many women and in those groups he could simply describe them as the mischievous girl, the capricious woman, the beautiful but silly girl, the women who thought their beauty could buy the most expensive bracelets… Alexander was tired of that until he found Rebecca. She seemed not to have any flaw. Maybe he was dreaming so much about her. Rebecca was like other human being, with strength and weaknesses but the truth was he hadn’t found any weaknesses, just strengths.
