She raised her left hand, pressing her bare palm directly against Rohan’s wounded shoulder. A sharp, concussive blast of purple energy detonated between them. Rohan let out a strangled cry as the magic tore through his shirt, ripping the fresh scabs off his skin and throwing him backward against the iron frame of the bed. He hit the metal hard, the frame groaning under his weight, but his amber eyes didn't lose their feral focus. He bared his fangs, blood dripping from his shoulder as he forced his legs back under him, ready to spring again.
