“Hello.” “....” Silence. There’s no answer from across the phone. “Yeobseyo.” “....” Suddenly the caller hung up. Tiara just fell silent while staring at the phone screen. Weird. “Is it trying to scare me?” Tiara put the phone back down. Her hands are moving to clean up the old book. The book with the cover of ‘The Power of Darkness’ has a unique shape. The carving of roses with minimalist style on the cover looks real. Tiara’s never seen a book cover like this before. She tried to open the book, but it couldn’t open.

The star pattern continued on the front, making up the border surrounding the exact same image in the middle engraved into the leather binding. I took a seat in a nearby armchair and opened the book. A little dust appeared as I did, along with a faint older text smell. I carefully turned to the first page which held the title: Ancient Curses. Oh, sh*t. Was this one of the books Ronan had used when looking for a cure for Leo's curse?

Grinning at the child like boy zooming past the shelves, he shook his head before running to catch up. Skimming his eyes past the books, a small, blue one caught his eyes. It was hardback, with a fabric, satiny cerulean cover, small enough to fit in his palm. The title was simple, yet alluring, gracing the cover with an elegant font. "Hey, Rin. What do you think of this one?" Uriel waved the book in the air, watching as Erin lightly jogged over. Reaching his friend, he observed the book, face wavering with different emotions as he analysed it. "Well? What are your thoughts?"

Even its cover was clean, on the cover had the drawings, that Alpha Angelo couldn't understand. Being the first time to hold the book, he was surprised to see the picture of wolves in their full transformation. A full moon shinning above them, then at the far end of the cover there was a hunter with a ring shinning. It appeared to be a reflection from the moon's light, well, it was strange. It was strange because, Alpha Angelo couldn't understand why the picture of a hunter was on the cover. He wished to call Beta Dagon so that they can read it together, but he remembered.

I returned a favoring smile to her by doing it genuinely before I took the book on her soft palm, an almost thick book with a blue cover. The book is heavy. On the front cover, there is a closed eye with long black thick lashes in a form of feathers placed inside a pentagon. Outside the badge has a wonderful abstract ocean and sunrise. Below it, golden embossed letters are shining to make its cover spectacular: BOOK OF A ZONER "Begin reading from page two to page five," Psyche said to me, stopping me in amazement. So I did what she wanted me to do. I flipped the pages until I reached the second page of the book. I started reading what's on it.

It looked as though the place had been ransacked, due to the books being scattered in every direction. I knocked around some of the books with the tip of my sneaker, surprised that not all were destroyed beyond recognition. I picked up one of the many plain bound books and looked at the cover. The top and bottom corner was burned off of the book, and the cover hung by a few threads, but there was still some sense to the handwritten words inside. The cover of the book read, "1836" I flipped the book open to a random pace, surprised to find the inexperienced writing of a child.

I began to wonder why I had come to this section in the first place, but as I turned to leave, something caught my eye. It wasn’t a large book, but its brilliant white cover stood out among the others. I pulled the book from the shelf, intrigued. The cover had an intricate pattern, one I could trace with my fingers. The title read Silver Bloods. Beneath it was a symbol that looked like an ‘M,’ but with two circles around the middle strokes. “What is this?” I wondered aloud. I’d never heard of it before. The book was flat, with only a few pages, and that intrigued me even more.

She doesn't glance at where I lay as she walks to her cot, her face as blank as a sheet. 'Saelyna?' She shakes her head, staring at the book in her hands. The book. Curiosity gets the better of me and I push myself closer to see what the fuss was all about. It's like any other book, save for its cover, made from something that resembles a tree bark. No symbol, no marks. Just a book. Provoked, I reach out and grab it.

The last caught my attention—a striking cover depicting a phoenix rising from a blaze, wings spread wide.

She raised her hand and with her index finger she brushed the books, reading their titles. There were some that said "satanic pacts" others like "the call of the devil" "the forest and its hidden side" "small town legends" "werewolves and the full moon" and the last one said "Wisconsin Cases". Camila took out that last one, the book was big, it had a red cover with the image of the town itself. But that image was in black and white, as if it was taken years ago.
