SARAH Those red heels, like a pair of vibrant and deranged circus seals, wobble as Ruby walks past me. It's 1 am, and I'm questioning every word coming out of her mouth. "You killed him, Sarah. Sending Leonardo to meet his maker. Accidental, yeah. Defense, of course. But, girl, he’s still dead. Like, six feet under dead.” I gulp. I'm freaking out so badly, I feel as if I'm going to pass out.

*Chapter 5: The Darkness* As the car approached, Emma's heart was racing. She covered Sarah's body with her own, bracing for impact. But instead of a collision, the car screeched to a halt just inches from their bodies. Emma's eyes were fixed on the car's door as it swung open. A figure emerged, tall and imposing. Emma's instincts screamed at her to run, but her body seemed frozen in place. The figure loomed over them, its features obscured by the shadows. Emma's heart was pounding in her chest as the figure reached out a hand.

The particular book appears in front of him as HE gladly reads the title out loud. “Death Resurgence.” As the book opens and the series of the current events begin to flash and flood. HE giggles in HIS utmost amusement, as HE presented. “Well, well, well. Shall we learn the ropes of what lies within the Resurgence?” From the book that deliberately flips and presented the gist of the world that it brings, the words are written and said.

Callum was really feeling chills on his spine. He could tell this was really important and noticed it was only him and Nicholas in the room. Whatever happened it was always the four of them together. All four were really close with each other, especially him, Nicholas and Gabriel. They were of the same age. And went to the same school till they were in their teens. And pursued their passion after that but still maintained a very close knitted relationship. “Callum, I am really sorry for what is about to happen. I really wish there was another way to tell this to you but I also didn’t find it out. I found out only an hour back. Please sit down and look at this file.”

Where did he find the book exactly? I dusted the book and flipped the first page but see the first page is missing and the worst thing is it was handwritten. Useless. I turned the book and looked at the last page. "Please don't ignore the book. The whole incidents are true and I predicted all the things accordingly. It would happen in the future. Please be careful with Heil. He will crush the whole city down if he doesn't get what he wants." The words are readable even though the author has written this in a hurry.

Book 2 had ended in the worst way possible. My destruction was now public. And the real nightmare or whatever came next was only beginning.

I accepted my entry-level position at a prestigious marketing firm and graduating from college with honors as a business major with a minor in history. "Do you believe in magic now?" A childlike voice disrupts my reverie, singing around me in the darkness. The singing is filling my soul with intense apprehension and dread. Uh Oh. A sudden wind hits me, tossing me around wildly. It reminds me of the vortex that tore me away from Meena on the fairy hill in Ireland. We were watching a solar eclipse until an unnatural gale tossed my ass into ancient Troy. The wind suddenly stops; my stomach is hitting my throat as I'm falling through space.

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

Emma gulped as her mind jogged back to the unexpected event of the night before. Nothing happened last night! Nothing had happened between them. Which was a relief of course! But it's confusing as well. With the petals of roses scattered across the room like a carpet of love, scented candles and a huge bottle of champagne on the bed, Emma expected Kevin to sleep with her, ravage her like a fucking monster he's— she had seen the way he looked at her when they were together in the car but much to her surprise, he didn't.
