Though I have read it numerous times, it’s an epic book. I run my finger on the letters on the cover page of the book. The letters reads: THE OUTSIDERS. I sigh satisfyingly and begin my book. In a minute, I’m already lost in the world of ‘Ponyboy Curtis’, the book’s narrator.

She put on a devious smile, straightened up and lifted the open manuscript up – very much like a grandmother who is about to read a lovely goodnight story to a child. “Let me read to you from this chapter,” she chirped. “It’s titled – and I quote –B-J.” Jack swallowed. Obviously this book really was X-rated. “P Jas in pajamas?” he asked quickly. Daniel takes a book off the shelf, and I turn to face him. "What do you like to read the most?" he ask. "A bit of everything, I enjoy gaining knowledge," I shrug. "Take this; consider it a memento from me," he says, holding the book out to me. I raise an eyebrow. I take the book from his hand and look at the cover, which depicts a couple embracing. I check the title, which reads: "Farewell to Humanity." "Thank you." "You're welcome." I say nothing more and head toward the path I memorized leading to the bedroom. I lie down on the bed and stroke the book's cover. I start reading and don't know how much time passes, but when I come to, the day has already dawned.

It's humiliating. She emerged from the restroom and changed into a new dress. She sat up in bed and went to her phone's app store. She found Bokipad and downloaded the app. She noticed it on her home screen a few minutes later. She finally got into the app after creating an account. Her upper lip twitched with a smile. She perused hundreds of professional and amateur book covers. What Hazel had told her seemed to be true. There were numerous books to select from. She texted the girl.

But one caught my eye: a pink book, which looked completely out of place. It was tucked between two thick volumes, its cover wrinkled and faded at the edges. My curiosity got the better of me, and I found myself reaching for the book. On the cover, was a cartoon illustration of a bear and a tiger. A children's book? Why did someone like Xeros have a book like this inside his study? I flipped it open, turning the pages absentmindedly as some words began to register in my mind with a vague sense of familiarity. As I turned another page, my fingers brushed against something thick… a folded piece of drawing paper folded in half and tucked carefully between two pages.

He had a large , king sized bed which was covered in silky grey sheets. The pillows were big and fluffy. There were two more door inside his room. One I might assume must lead to bathrooms and other, I have no idea. He also had a big bookshelf on the left side of the room. It looked like it contained a lot of first editions. I went to explore the bookshelf. I love books and I love reading them. I especially the hard bound books and here, in his bookshelf, there were many. As I was admiring the books, I heard the sound of a door shutting.

She didn’t know if she could hold it much longer. Melinda laughed. “I purposely avoided that box.” “You look like you’re not having any trouble,” Bev said, eyeing the large one Melinda held. Melinda shifted the box so she held it with one arm. Show off. Melinda lifted one of the flaps and pulled out…a pillow. She grinned. “Yeah, I’m super buff.” Daniel hurried into view at the bottom of the stairs. “Sorry. I’m back.” He took the stairs two at a time and took the box of books from Bev.
