It is here to guide us back. My eyes widened. Alexis' Incubus. So, he had called it and sent it to find us. Alexis knew… I should have been relieved, but I wasn't. This big scary thing would make sure we got back, but back to what? ~*~ Oni and I hurried down the path now lined with spirits of every kind. I didn't want to get too close to the Incubus. It was like a mass of pulsating blackness that glistened and sparkled like cancer if cancer could thrive outside of a body. It was helping us, and yet I couldn't fight the revulsion I felt at the sight of it. But I didn't have to worry about it getting too close to me. It was setting a nice pace, and Oni's form was a buffer between us.

Gunderson asked. “The incubus knows who and what we are. Speak. Incubus. Introduce us.” Anders commanded. The incubus stood as if he were pulled up by invisible strings. He was pretty pissed about it. I managed to hold back my laughter. “Gentlemen, may I introduce you to the Vasili and Vasilia of the desire demons. Anders Damon and Madison Coto. The king and queen of my people.” He said stiffly and with a little sneer when he said ‘queen’.

The circle was drawn in Himalayan salt and crushed pomegranate seeds, the air thick with the scent of burnt honey and Ava's desperation. She wasn't praying; she was bargaining. Her knife, usually an extension of her will, felt heavy and dull in her hand. The critics' words echoed, derivative, lacking fire, safe, carved deeper wounds than any blade. Michelin stars felt like distant, dying embers. Inspiration had deserted her like a fickle lover. So, she turned to the unconventional section of her grandmother's grimoire, the one bound in suspiciously soft, warm leather. Incubus Minor: For Creative Ignition. Price: Nights of Service.

Incubus were sex driven creatures. It was all they wanted, all that they could possibly think of. If they couldn’t get their fix, they’d turn into raging beasts until they got what they wanted. Caspius would pity any female that would be their mate. Dealing with Ellias would be more than any immortal could handle.

No doubt the entire underworld will be grappling to see who gave this information out. God knew he was too. But it provided an opportunity for him. He was delaying Nickolay's arrest. But now he was sure Nickolay had other things to focus on, like getting his house order for one. I have now come to the end of book one of my Cursed by the gods series. It has been a long journey I'm not gonna lie. I lost commitment along the way of writing this book, lost inspiration, even changed the plan I initially had for it. Raven learned a lot because of that. Raven sat on the bench where Kyra was seated. They had a conversation they would meet when they were not in class. "Raven, I'm not scaring you or anything, but you need to know that incubus feeds their victims' fears and sexual desires, which amplifies their demonic power.
