Books I Want To Talk About Novels & Stories

It didn’t say anything about the animals or people of that land. Erica got tired and bored and closed the book, “This is so damn boring,” she sighed and closed the book and pushed it away. “May be you can put yourself back,” she talked to the book and then looked around, she felt ashamed, what if someone saw her talking to a book. Talking to a book? Damn it, Erica quickly got up and rushed towards her bag, she pulled out her diary from it and sighed. She was so caught p in all the drama that she forgot about it.

Taking a handkerchief from Lucas hand, Irina used it to clean her mouth and hand. “So… those ladies annoy you?” Asked Lucas. “Yea…” Came Irina’s unexcited reply. “I wish I was in the library. Can you tell me, is there new books coming?” “Oh yeah…” Lucas answered cheerfully. Then he told her about the new books, she listened to him. Their conversation topic turned wide. They talked like they knew the world inside out, giving their opinion about war and how to fix it. Or about women’s education and poor children.

We sit in comfortable silence for a moment, the weight of shared understanding between us. Then, Perry's face brightens. "But let's talk about something more cheerful. Are you a fan of Frank Herbert's Dune series?" My eyes widen. "You're kidding. I love Dune!" He grins. "A woman after my own heart. What about A Game of Thrones?" "Read them all, watched the show. Though I have to say, I prefer the books."

I said, grinning from teeth to teeth like a child. We walked into the library. It looked like it had been a while, since it was in use. We went through several sections which included, finance, self-improvement, ethics, business amongst all. I caught a glimpse of a book I had been wanting to read, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I picked it immediately, and started going through it. After a while, I noticed I wasn't hearing any sound from the cook. I looked around and found her wiping tears off her eyes with the hem of her apron.

Going to the movies with Liam this morning was such huge fun, I love Disney movies and doubt I’ll ever grow out of it. Idly, I scroll through TikTok then jump over to YouTube to catch up on some of my favorite book bloggers and see what they’ve been reading this month. A couple of books I haven’t read look good. Grabbing my journal and pen, I start to make notes so I don’t forget which ones I want to buy.

I like taking my time, that way, I can get used to the idea of living with Xander. Sitting behind the counter in the bookstore, I listen to Vincent talking to his cars while I place an order for new books. One of those books is The Art of War by Sun Tsu. I want to read it and see why Alexei loves it so much. My thoughts turn to the BBQ, and I must admit, I enjoyed it a lot. And Rosemarie was right. Everyone seemed pretty normal. I don’t know what I expected. Maybe guns and men smoking cigars while plotting the end of the world?
