The entire hall smells of old books and bleach. Row after row of neatly lined books with their spines facing outward, colour-coded with dots, fiction section arranged in alphabetical order. She scanned slowly until her eyes met Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's "Half of a yellow sun". She took it out, and then went behind in search of a place to sit and devour the book.

“What am I supposed to do with those?” “They need to be put away,” she explained. “They go by authors and are in alphabetical order. Genre is on the side of the book, so they should be easy to find. I’m sure it’ll take you no time.” She turned to leave. “Wait, you're leaving?” I asked. “I’m afraid so. His Highness assigned other tasks for me this morning. A pull like a magnet, weak but just about perceptible. Caitlin opened her eyes and followed the pull as it led her to a shelf of dusty books. Her eyes skimmed across the spines, unable to read any of the languages. But then she saw one book in English and knew, deep inside of her, that she had found what she had been sent here for. She had to be careful with it in case the pages shattered on contact with her skin.

I look up at the towering shelves of books that surround me. The shelves have to be organized, I just need to find out how. Removing a book from the shelf closest to me, I read the title, 'Tales from World War II'. I replace the book and pull out another one from further down the shelf. This one is titled 'The History of the Roman Empire'. I must be in the history section. Exiting the row of shelves I was in, I enter a different row of shelves to my right. Seeing titles like 'Minerals and Gemstones' and 'Animals of the Sahara', I knew I was in the science section.

But considering the current scenario… “Your choice of subject sire?” the librarian asked. Ahem! Arthur cleared his throat. “Wolves and mates,” Arthur whispered so softly that the librarian had to lean in. “True mates.” “Identification or rituals or both,” the librarian hissed back. “Both,” Arthur mouthed the word. The librarian nodded and left. As Arthur waited at one of the reading desks, the librarian bustled back with at least half a dozen books. “These,” the librarian spoke as he arranged them in a particular order, “are in the reading order. You should get all required information in book one, but you can more information in others as well.”

The doorbell over the door rang when he entered, and for an instant, he stood still—not uncertain, but due to the strange warmth that rushed up to meet him.
