Silently, she placed them around the table, forming a perfect circle around the twins. The candle wax glistened, and Ashley and Alaina's fear intensified. The woman then slipped a heavy necklace, filled with large pearls that seemed to pulsate with a strange energy, around her neck. She also pulled out a knife decorated with red threads and a massive, ancient-looking book bound in leather.

XAVIER STORM The study was cloaked in shadows, the only illumination coming from the dying flames in the fireplace. The books that lined the shelves, had their spines worn from years of use, yet none held my interest tonight. The silence was deafening, broken only by the occasional crackle of burning wood.

What was happening? Before she could react, a brilliant, golden light erupted from the book's spine, flooding the room with warmth and brightness. The air around her shimmered, filled with soft, glowing particles that floated like stars in the night. Selene gasped, her breath catching as the light intensified. Its glow was so powerful that it forced her to squint.

The sound of water gently lapping against the shelves provided a soothing ambiance, creating a serene atmosphere that encouraged deep contemplation and study. As they ventured deeper into the library, Tritan, Finrir, Nerissa, Madissa, Bryan, and Joe found themselves surrounded by rows upon rows of books. The sheer volume of knowledge contained within those pages was awe-inspiring. Each book seemed to hold the answers to countless mysteries, waiting to be discovered by those who sought enlightenment.

But this time it didn't lead me the way it had the first time. Instead, the light suddenly began to flip every single book on the shelf. It came almost like a thick rush of wind, sharp and sudden, and I had to step back quickly to stop myself from being hit by the books flying off the shelves one after the other. The sound of them hitting the floor filled the entire room, loud and fast and relentless. Then just as quickly as it had started, it stopped. Everything became completely calm. Quiet. Still. When I looked down at my feet, the Book of Shadows was right there.

Head pounding, stomach rumbling Elinda Milburn tried to open her eyes. She sat, her eyes still closed, and she had to sleep again because her head was spinning. "What is wrong with me?" She asked herself as she massaged her head. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked around. It was so dark that, for a moment, she thought that maybe she had gone blind. It took a few minutes for her to recall what had happened earlier. "Am I dead?" she asked herself. "Am I not supposed to be in heaven?" "Why is it so dark in here, or is it that I am in hell?" She screamed inwardly, looking around her in fright.

Before then, I didn’t have need for reading. Reading eased the pain of my family’s death. I wasn’t sure I would be here without it. I started dusting them and the shelves. I had an allergic reaction to dust. I covered my nose and was careful not to let any dust into them. I was at the third shelf when I noticed something. When I passed a part of the third shelf, light twinkled. To be sure I wasn’t seeing things, I did it again. The light sparkled again. This time, I slowly walked past the shelf to see exactly where the light was coming from. I stopped when I saw a book shine. It was nothing like I ever saw.

Their spines were adorned with golden letters that glinted faintly in the soft light, as if they were guarding their secrets. I took a cautious step inside, my shoes barely making a sound on the stone floor. The shelves stretched so high that I had to crane my neck to see the tops of them. The entire room was a sanctuary of knowledge, untouched by time, waiting to be explored. It was a place for the curious, for the seeker of stories, a treasure chest of forgotten words. My fingers itched to trace the spines of the books, to pull one from the shelf and lose myself in its pages.
