“What was?” “Going after her like that,” he said, a thread of irritation slipping into his voice. “You barely exchanged two words before you dragged Clara into it. Why?” Lyana’s smile thinned, just a flicker. “Because she needed reminding of where she stands. Women like Irene… they show up with sharp eyes and sharp tongues, thinking they belong in every room. Someone has to put them back in their place.” Kieran frowned, unsettled. “Still. Clara had nothing to do with it. She’s just a child.”

Curiosity tugged at her to go to the library. She got out of the room and followed the path Alice had described. The library's doors creaked open, revealing rows of shelves stacked with books. The air was a bit dusty and cobwebs hung around. She wondered if people hardly came here. She trailed her fingers along the spines of the books until she found one titled: “The Lunar Bond, The mating of wolves” Her hand trembled slightly as she lifted the heavy book. She opened it, reading in silence about bonds, instinct and transformations.

the woman agreed with Lyra and the man looked at me. “Please, back me up here,” he said and I shrugged. “I actually agree with the ladies. There is nothing like enough books. Get her more books, king.” “She prefers this book men to me. Why should I help her do such a thing to me?” “You should still get her the book. She knows that the men in these books are fictional and will actually make no sense in real life.” Lyra scoffed and picked up the book the woman had pointed to. “This book here has my all time favorite male character in it, Thor Nelson. After reading this book, I prayed for a partner like me for weeks. I still do.”

Ashley lowered her head, a slight smirk at the corner of her mouth. When she looked up again, she wore a pitiful, aggrieved expression. I stood and walked to Ashley, suddenly slapping her hard enough to knock her to the ground. "Isn't it normal for a mistress to hide from the wife? Something waiting. --- Determined not to be paralyzed by fear, I returned to the antique bookstore — to the stories, the secrets, the fragments of forgotten women. The elderly owner greeted me with a knowing smile. “You’re searching for answers,” he said quietly. I nodded. He handed me a leather-bound tome, its cover worn but strong — *Reflections of the Forgotten*. “Read carefully,” he advised. “Sometimes the past speaks through shadows.” --- I spent the night poring over its pages. The book told of women trapped in illusions, caught between worlds — ghosts of themselves, struggling to reclaim their true identities.

ASTRA (flashback part 2) When I was a mere kid, back then when I wasn’t even in high school just yet, the bookstore is my favorite hangout place for so many reasons. I love reading! I love discovering new ideas! It is also my mother’s work place after she quit designing for a high end brand. But most importantly, there’s this particular type of reading material I always love to check out during my free time. A visual book. A magazine. In those pages, there are beautiful tall women wearing elegant clothes. They look mysterious and intimidating. My mother calls them a model. She then mentioned that she use to work with those kind of women before.

"Sam, right?" The second grabs the first woman. "Look." My wolf looks down at her hands. Wolf claws are out and her growl vibrates the floor. "Anna…” The second woman's eyes go wide. The beast runs at them, striking one in the face with her claws. The other jumps on its back, trying to subdue it, but it's too strong. "Noooo! Stop!!!" I bang on the wall of my mind as I watch the beast attack the women. "Alexi! Run!" The women grab the book they were reading and run for the door.
