Make sure you drop your reviews... *** Rumours of a War A proverb says that when it rains everyday, there is a bound of sorrow within the rain. Maybe we were not that rich but we were happy or we claimed to be. The only problem was that I was no longer in school. I think I liked it that way, school stress was so hard especially now that I was in the junior secondary.

The water was freezing about the surface but I can feel the cold water staying calm down the surface. The ice wasn’t strong enough to hold my weight so I dropped the idea of running over it. I placed the book side and shifted back to my human form. Wearing my clothes back on my body, I opened the book and turned the pages to read the first topic which is “finding my element!” “That’s ridiculous! Element? How can someone be binded with elements?” I was irritated but remembered what the Elf said to me. Slowly and steadily I read the book and finished it till the last page but i didn’t find any clue or topic regarding my interest. One thing was sure, I did find many things in the book which I n

"If you want to read, go ahead." She hesitated. "Are you sure?" His lips quirked slightly, amused by the question. "I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t." Elena turned back to the shelf, her eyes scanning the titles before finally settling on a familiar one. Animal Farm. One of the few books she’d read over and over as a child, long before the world had turned cruel. She clutched it to her chest and settled onto the couch closest to Asher’s desk, curling her legs under her.

I was always too worried to catch anyone's unwanted attention. My mother had paraded me around like a prized mare after the contract was signed. The revealing gowns and ostentatious regalia she insisted on during parties and festivities were nauseating. I turned back to the dishes working on a pot. “I’ve read that, have you read Watership Down,” I asked. He snorted. “Isn’t that the one about the bunnies,” he said with mild disgust. “Yes, but it may tickle your fancy. If you like books about politics, it's got a lot of political leadership philosophy .” I offered. He made another grimace as if the mere idea of a story about rabbits was absurd. 'Tickle your fancy? Really Bri? Get a grip girl.'

"Do you know any other stories about wolves that I might like?" "Oh, there are so many great ones!" she says, her eyes lighting up. "Have you ever read 'The Call of the Wild' or 'White Fang' by Jack London? They're both classics about the wilds of Alaska and the life of a wolf. Or 'Never Cry Wolf' by Farley Mowat - it's a nonfiction book about a biologist who studies wolves in the Canadian Arctic.” “Calm down!” I laughed. “You know a lot. What are you? A beta wolf?” I joked and Lauren laughed.

It was all in her mind. Except there weren’t any pink elephants. Which left her with a stinky dead giant with two too many heads, and a really hot guy who thought they were going somewhere. Macky, when I get through with you, you'll wish you just mailed me the damn book for free, she thought. And then, because she couldn’t think of a good reason not to, she went to pack some food. The bag proved to be a single-strap rucksack, and the provisions at hand were heavy on the hard rolls, dried protein—she didn’t ask, didn’t want to know—and trail mix.

Birds had nested in the dashboard. At midday, they stopped to eat. Damon pulled from his pack a battered copy of *Watership Down*, which he’d scavenged from a burned library two towns back. He read aloud as they chewed dried fruit and jerky, his voice soft and oddly reverent. It was the only book they’d kept, after the world ended. As he read, Elena watched Donovan run perimeter checks, ever alert. She wondered if this vigilance would ever break, if he could ever trust in the possibility of a future. Damon caught her glance and folded the book shut, reading her mind as always.

The students each chose a picture book and read quietly. Jonathan sat by the window, focused on reading a picture book about the world of wild animals, when Teacher Ria walked over and sat beside him, asking kindly. “What are you reading, Jonathan?” Jonathan looked up and excitedly held the book cover toward her. “I am reading about the animal world. It says here that in the A****n rainforest there are pythons that are dozens of meters long. It is really fascinating.” The teacher smiled and affectionately patted Jonathan’s head.

But then, something unexpected happens. The group is frozen in fear as the herd of elephants races towards them. But then, something surprising happens. Instead of trampling the group, the elephants veer to the side, passing right by them. The group is relieved, but still bewildered. Why did the elephants avoid them? As the elephants disappear into the forest, the group sees another figure coming towards them. This one is much smaller - it's a little boy! The boy runs up to them, out of breath and looking panicked. "Help!" he cries out. "My village is in danger!"

Kharyn said. “Then, I will read this now.” Zenus and Kharyn exchanged glances. And they nodded. Both appeared uneasy. WHEN Eleand reached his room, he immediately changed his clothes. His wings were nowhere in sight. He hurriedly looked at the old book, and it seemed to talk with him for some reason. The texts inside must have had a significant amount of magic. It was utterly different compared to the books he had used. Read me. He knew that wasn’t hallucinations. The book talked in his mind!
