Books On Floor Novels & Stories

The center of each floor contained tall shelves filled with the newer, more popular and useful books. The third and fourth floors were as different from those below as night was from day. These were called the “stacks” and contained tens of thousands of old books that were rarely, if ever used. Leesa had never had any reason to venture up into the stacks, but apparently Cali had, because she led Leesa through an old wooden door into a dimly lit stairway at the far end of the first floor and guided her up to the fourth floor.

The books were arranged like in the study room, from the floor to the ceiling – but this one was far more enormous than the latter. In the study room, there were built-in ladders on the side of each of the shelves to get the books she needed up to the ceiling. Unlike here, they were using wood ladders to get the needed books, most especially at the higher part of the shelf. It was better, though, because they could move it from one shelf to another. She loved to read, and she was really fascinated – it made her want to discover new things from the book itself. There were ten wooden rectangular tables placed in the center of the room – each had five wooden chairs with foam on it.

Alpha Sam opened the white double doors in front of us. My eyes were immediately greeted by a row of bookshelves that soared up to the ceiling of this room. Just like the previous floor, a blue carpet covered the entire library floor, only this carpet had a beautiful pattern of gold and red. Sofas, table sets, chairs, and sofa beds that look soft and inviting are placed in the middle of the room. In the corner of the room there is a large fireplace and several individual sofas that have high backs.

A Dream House (Continuation) I sat on the beige colored tiled floor of the living room. And I looked around me, the ceilings are neatly painted white, while the walls are covered with medium toned brown wallpapers. I opened another box. From the box I pulled out lots of books, maybe fifty to seventy of them. The books come in different forms, big and small, thin and thick. Curiosity piqued, I pushed it open and stepped inside. My breath caught in my throat as I took in the sight before me. The room had a tiled chessboard floor and stretched out farther than I could see, lined with row upon row of bookshelves. It was a private library, grander than anything I'd ever imagined. I walked slowly between the shelves, my fingertips trailing reverently along the spines of the books. They were meticulously organized – fiction arranged alphabetically, non-fiction sorted by subject, with color-coded dots marking different genres. His walls were decorated with old issue covers, awards, and books while the floor was covered with a circular black rug. "So Miss Collins, shall we get started?" He questioned breaking the silence

Leilani’s eyes sparkled in delight. “Indeed,” Luster agreed with a smile. “There’s some old books here as well!” Maximus exclaimed from the other side of the room. When I chance a look at it, there was a small bookshelf on the floor right next to the bed. There were some old, thick books there which I have no doubt would not interest me. But Maximus loves reading every kind of book, so it’s a treasure to him.

In the center was a table. Laying on the table was a book with its pages open. A massive mechanical arm was hovering over the book. A fountain pen was attached to its metal "fingers." It was writing fast. The sound of the nib scratching against the paper was very loud. Maya walked toward the table. She looked at the page. Maya Benson walked into the room unaware that the floor was about to vanish. Maya stepped back as a square piece of the floor turned into a hole of black ink.

He shook her from his mind and pushed open the doors to the study. The rug-lined room was bigger than B’s above-garage apartment. Floor to ceiling bookshelves dampened any noise B might made in his whiskey search. There didn’t seem to be a single inch of space on any one of the shelves. Books of all colors, textures, and sizes were packed together. In front of the book spines sat hundreds of little treasures–seashells, pocket watches, glass figurines, and carvings of creatures. So many creatures. B let his fingers drift over the book spines: The Picture of Dorian Gray. The Catcher in the Rye. The Odyssey. Brave New World. The Call of the Wild. White Noise.
