DECEPTION

DECEPTION

said John with enthusiasm, and we all laugh at his antics. “Do you want to hang out later?” Matt asks “Yeah! Let’s have some shabu later! To celebrate our new gang!” John exclaims. “Aahhhmmm… I need to go home early” I politely decline their offer. “Oh, why?” Is there a problem at your house?” Xandee ask me. “No… there was no problem at all… I just need to finish some assignments” I lied to them. “But our professors didn’t give us homework’s for this week” John said.

The Goddess of Divorce Made Me His Boss

The Goddess of Divorce Made Me His Boss

"Where have you been? I've needed your guidance so desperately." "I have been preparing for this moment," the goddess replied. "Your enemies have created their greatest weapon against you, but they do not understand that their lies will become their undoing." "How can lies be their undoing? The evidence against me looks completely real. Even I'm starting to wonder if somehow I did something illegal without knowing it." "The very perfection of their deception reveals its false nature," Athena explained. "Truth is messy and complicated. Lies are neat and simple. Your enemies have created evidence that is too clean, too organized, too convenient to be real."

The Lycan's Secret Mate

The Lycan's Secret Mate

As the evening cast a soft glow over the opulent chambers, Raquel and I found ourselves engaged in a conversation that danced upon a delicate thread of trust and deception. Raquel, ever the master manipulator, wove her web of lies, carefully crafting a narrative that painted Liam as the villain of our twisted tale. I furrowed my brows, a flicker of doubt tugging at the edges of my mind. I had known Liam intimately, had experienced the tenderness and love he had shown me. Yet, Raquel's words clawed at my heart, injecting seeds of uncertainty into my thoughts.

A Tale Between S and W: Not your usual giddy love story

A Tale Between S and W: Not your usual giddy love story

The old doctor continued telling it all as he scans the medical documents of Tanashiri. "I see. When it comes to money and power, everybody lies." A young intern said. "In all aspects of life, we all lie and deceive each other. We only do it by different severities. And what makes it worse is we all lie in the eyes of God, we lie to ourselves, and we lie to people around us. It is taken into account when someone is hurt, but if no one knows about it, we can all feign innocence. Don't you think I also do not lie to you all? Any one of you can steal my power in this hospital someday."

His Heart Ruler

His Heart Ruler

Behind the gentle and smart business, he has been hiding a fragile soul that is scared of letting the people know about his caged soul. That's what abuse does to people, it makes people a good lier. You get very good at hiding things when you're an abused kid or teeneger. Deception is less a matter of morality, and more a matter of survival and protection. You learn to lie, you learn to be fake, and you learn to bullshit the world into believing that you're doing fine even if you're dead inside. It's how we learn to cope. Deception is more or less SOP for the majority for us, and many of us get very good at it.

Ryan, I'm crazy for him and want to read more about him never been obsessed with a fictional character this much but this book got me. I really loved the concept as it's something new to read about. although Jenny seems like good character I still need more chapters to reed to feel connect with her.

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

“Maybe from the very beginning, hiding it was the biggest mistake. If I had been brave enough to be honest from the start, Orion wouldn’t have had to pretend he was single, and the Northern Duke and Alina wouldn’t have been deceived into wanting him. That misunderstanding wouldn’t have happened, and my awakening wouldn’t have gone wrong. Everything spiraled from that first concealment—it all started there.” People create lies with their hands, but once set in motion, they slip beyond control. Lies are like a ladder on ice—once you climb it, you can’t stop; it carries you wherever it wants, and there’s no turning back.

She Writes Her Own Heartbeat

She Writes Her Own Heartbeat

"The world has followed the Sterling saga closely. Your first book, The Debt, was a fictional exploration of financial secrets. Now, you’ve released The New Contract, a book about two people rebuilding their lives on total honesty. Is this simply a memoir disguised as fiction?" I smiled, meeting her gaze steadily. "Every writer draws from life, but this book is much broader than the Sterling saga. The New Contract is about the universal human need for genuine connection after experiencing profound betrayal. It’s about the work required to shift from a foundation built on lies to one built on absolute transparency."

Solid Gold (Unseen Enemy 8)

Solid Gold (Unseen Enemy 8)

But when she thought about it later, as she lay nestled in his arms in her bed, she thought that telling lies and telling the truth had a few things in common. She'd learned that if you told one lie, then you were pretty much guaranteed to have to tell another one to explain or justify or cover up that first lie. Then a third lie, to protect the first two lies. Then a fourth, to shore things up and to keep the house of lies from falling down. And on and on, lie after lie, until it was like a snowball barreling on down a hill. You told one lie and then you couldn't stop telling more of them.

Love, Lies, and Billion-Dollar Secrets

Love, Lies, and Billion-Dollar Secrets

I hesitated for a moment, cleared my throat, then picked it up and answered. “Hello?” [Amelia, thank God. I was starting to think you’d blocked me.] His voice was light, relieved. Too relieved. “Sorry… I’ve just been super busy with work,” I lied smoothly. In reality, I was dodging him on purpose. [How’s the job going?] Oh, you know. Almost got fired for undressing the boss. All good. “G-Great. Totally fine. I’ve been doing well,” I forced a small laugh, trying not to sound fake. I’d been faking so long, I was basically a professional at this point.

Love Lies and Deceit

Love Lies and Deceit

"You believed everything my mother told you, every damn lie she spun like gold thread from her twisted little web. You clung to it like it was scripture while ignoring the one person who ever told you the truth. Me. The truth I'm telling you now, and only God knows it too." I paused, swallowing the knot in my throat, but my voice didn't waver. "But I don't give a damn if you believe me anymore. It doesn't matter. None of this does." He looked at me, hard. Eyes narrowing. Not with anger no, it was something else. Something worse. That cold, calculating silence that said he was dissecting me, weighing every word like it might be another lie. Then finally, after what felt like hours, he took a
