The Rejected True Heiress

The Rejected True Heiress

By the time I started walking again, my chest was tight and my fingers ached from how hard I’d been holding the book. I’d exited out the last door and through the gardens, and sure enough, out by the limo, there he was. Zane. He was leaning against the car door like he’d been there for hours, arms crossed, head tipped back, looking for all the world like he didn’t have a care. “Took you long enough. Find what you needed?” he asked, his smirk practiced, easy. I didn’t slow down. I shoved him off the door with one hand and yanked it open. “Take me home. Now.”

Great story and characters. Absolutely hooked! However do feel like the story is dragging on a bit and when you feel like its coming to a close something else happens and it starts all over again. Hoping its coming to a end soon and MC gets her happy ending.

Marrying the Mafia's Daughter

Marrying the Mafia's Daughter

After a few moments, the door clicked and unlocked. “Get inside, and don’t ever play hero again.” he literally pushed me inside. “Fine, the magic door. You can figure that out.” He hurriedly went out and locked the door behind me. I was in the old study, with tall bookshelves filled with hardbound books. I went through it, finding the magic door, like he said. I looked down. It usually had scrapes on the floor or a dent on the carpet. And I was right. I pulled all the books until I found resistance. I pushed it back, and it clicked. The shelf moved, and I entered to see faces staring at me incredulously as if I had just gone insane.

ASSASSIN LUNA

ASSASSIN LUNA

For heaven's sake, it's one of the qualities of a wolf Assassin; I guess he doesn't know that. "Kat, Kat, fine, let's talk!" he yelled, but I was still focused on the book in my hand. I turned him off completely and continued with the book. I was about to turn to another page when I heard the door give way, falling on the ground with a loud thud. I turned to see him standing right there like some hot, sexy grim reaper coming to collect my soul. He climbed on the door that was on the floor and walked right in. Judging from his expression he is pissed off but who cares.

Surrendering To The Devil I Married

Surrendering To The Devil I Married

I looked up from the book and there he was, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, watching me. He must have come home early. His eyes were fixed on me with an intensity that made my pulse jump. He didn’t say anything for what felt like forever. Just stood there, studying me like I was a puzzle he couldn’t quite figure out. I closed the book slowly, suddenly self-conscious. “I… I was just looking around. I didn’t touch anything important.” Lucian pushed off the doorframe and stepped inside. “Dinner,” he said. His voice was quieter than usual. “Join me.”

The Betrayed Luna: Rise Of The Phoenix

The Betrayed Luna: Rise Of The Phoenix

The doorframe was sparkling reddish orange, as though flames could burst out of it at any moment. I couldn’t see through to the other side. It was darkness. But seeing something other than the meadows with sunlight, made my anticipation rise. I sat back down upon the meadows and placed the heavy ancient tome on my lap, taking a deep breath. One last time, I thought. Looking down again at the book, I began to murmur again, filled with a newfound determination. I wasn’t sure how long it took. But for the last time I rose again. “I’m ready.”

The Alpha's Obsession

The Alpha's Obsession

Instead, he walked toward the door and, without a word, flipped the lock shut. Elena’s eyes widened. "What are you—" "If locking this door makes you feel safe, then no one will open it but you," he said simply, his voice steady and sure. Then, without another glance, he turned and walked out. Leaving her in stunned silence. _______________ Asher lingered near her desk, his sharp eyes sweeping over her belongings. His fingers brushed against the edges of two worn books—The Great Gatsby and Animal Farm. He scoffed quietly. "You like classics?"

Remember Me, Aly

Remember Me, Aly

I heaved a sigh before throwing myself down on the chair. After a minute, I heard nothing but footsteps and loud murmurs of the basketball team talking about sexy girls and their play. No wonder, Blake is one of them. When the surrounding was finally set into silence, I grabbed my book and took my steps on the door. My fright started to grow when I couldn't pull the door open at first attempt. I tried to twist the doorknob and pull it again but I failed. I put my book down, took a deep breath to relax myself from trembling in fear and tried to open the door once again by using my hands with all my strength. I buried my fingers in my hair and made a face palm when I still couldn't manage to c

Do You Or Do You Not Want Me, Mate?

Do You Or Do You Not Want Me, Mate?

She was far from home and she was in unknown territory. Finding what he was looking for, he tilted the book with the title on its spine, To Kill A Mockingbird. A resounding click was heard, and the bookshelves parted into two like the Red Sea to reveal the titanium door with a security pad on the side. Phil punched in the codes in haste, and before you know it, they were inside the secret room.

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

Dust motes, disturbed by our violent entry, danced in the few slivers of gray light that cut through the grimy, high-set windows, illuminating a vast, shadowy expanse of towering bookshelves that receded into an abyssal darkness. The door, splintered around the lock, wouldn’t latch. Jake immediately threw his weight against it, his boots skidding on the polished marble floor. “It won’t hold! I need to brace it!” he grunted, the strain evident in his voice as the door shuddered under an impact from the other side. A pale, grasping hand shot through the gap, fingers clawing at the air.
