Booktok He Leaned Against The Doorframe Romane & Geschichten

He huffed and pulled back, stepping away from the still sizzling door. “You have no concept of politics. With everything at stake, it has nothing to do with me being honorable, and everything to do with this is what has to be done.” Then, he vanished from beyond the hole in the door. At least for now, he wouldn’t try to take the book back, but I knew that it was only a matter of time before we had this fight again. I found something to cover the hole in the door, but I left the dresser in front of the door since it wouldn’t close again until the frame was replaced or repaired.

I let out another groan as I tried to sit up, but before either of us could respond, the sound of someone clearing their throat broke through. My eyes snapped to the door, followed by Cameron's, and I froze at the sight of him. He casually leaned against the doorframe, the door now wide open, his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes stern and dark as they took in the sight of me partially on top of Cameron. Fuck!

Jane's p o v The door creaked and I lifted my eyes from page 15 of the book in front of me. Quinn's silhouette between the door gave off the aura of a Henry Cavill famous show entry. His steps were slow and his arms steadily moving with fists folded beside him. He has probably just come back form a day full of impure lethal business. My legs drew up in reflex as he stops at the edge of my bed and my hand slowly draws nearer to the side of the bed where I had the knife hidden.

Oh we will see about that, dear mother. Pressing my ear against the hard wooden door, I carefully listened for a few seconds, to make sure my so-called friend wasn’t in there anymore, then slowly twisted the doorknob, stealthily peering inside. All clear. I breathed in relief, quickly getting inside then hastily locked the door, running straight to my bed afterwards. Kneeling beside it, I wasted no more time and pulled the huge book out, my slightly trembling hands sloppily skimming over the pages, until I’ve finally reached the section I wanted, like a burglar fearing of getting caught, my gaze hurriedly skipping over the words,

I say looking at his eyes this time, he sighs moving back slightly allowing me to swipe my card to unlock the door. "You can't resist the feeling Taylor, the more you attempt to the harder it will get" he says leaning against the door frame of his room, I knew what he was saying was correct. "Goodnight Toby" I smile before walking out the door and closing it behind me, this meant he couldn't walk back out now. With that, I turn and fully leave the section not even turning to see what he was doing. I had no idea what I was gonna decide.

By the time I started walking again, my chest was tight and my fingers ached from how hard I’d been holding the book. I’d exited out the last door and through the gardens, and sure enough, out by the limo, there he was. Zane. He was leaning against the car door like he’d been there for hours, arms crossed, head tipped back, looking for all the world like he didn’t have a care. “Took you long enough. Find what you needed?” he asked, his smirk practiced, easy. I didn’t slow down. I shoved him off the door with one hand and yanked it open. “Take me home. Now.”

After a few moments, the door clicked and unlocked. “Get inside, and don’t ever play hero again.” he literally pushed me inside. “Fine, the magic door. You can figure that out.” He hurriedly went out and locked the door behind me. I was in the old study, with tall bookshelves filled with hardbound books. I went through it, finding the magic door, like he said. I looked down. It usually had scrapes on the floor or a dent on the carpet. And I was right. I pulled all the books until I found resistance. I pushed it back, and it clicked. The shelf moved, and I entered to see faces staring at me incredulously as if I had just gone insane.

For heaven's sake, it's one of the qualities of a wolf Assassin; I guess he doesn't know that. "Kat, Kat, fine, let's talk!" he yelled, but I was still focused on the book in my hand. I turned him off completely and continued with the book. I was about to turn to another page when I heard the door give way, falling on the ground with a loud thud. I turned to see him standing right there like some hot, sexy grim reaper coming to collect my soul. He climbed on the door that was on the floor and walked right in. Judging from his expression he is pissed off but who cares.

I looked up from the book and there he was, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, watching me. He must have come home early. His eyes were fixed on me with an intensity that made my pulse jump. He didn’t say anything for what felt like forever. Just stood there, studying me like I was a puzzle he couldn’t quite figure out. I closed the book slowly, suddenly self-conscious. “I… I was just looking around. I didn’t touch anything important.” Lucian pushed off the doorframe and stepped inside. “Dinner,” he said. His voice was quieter than usual. “Join me.”

The doorframe was sparkling reddish orange, as though flames could burst out of it at any moment. I couldn’t see through to the other side. It was darkness. But seeing something other than the meadows with sunlight, made my anticipation rise. I sat back down upon the meadows and placed the heavy ancient tome on my lap, taking a deep breath. One last time, I thought. Looking down again at the book, I began to murmur again, filled with a newfound determination. I wasn’t sure how long it took. But for the last time I rose again. “I’m ready.”
