The last thing he should do was add to her stress. “Do you want to listen to some music?” he asked. “Sure,” she said. “What’ve you got?” He pointed to the dash and the Apple CarPlay screen. “I’ve got whatever you like.” She grinned and went into his song library and his playlists, scrolling through them until she found one and pressed play. The sound of Mic Drop by BTS came on and she turned, grinning at him. “You have BTS,” she said. “I do,” he replied. “I also have Enhypen, Stray Kids, and TXT.”

“Which playlist is that?” “Your heartbroken girl playlist on Spotify. It's not private you know. I found it and saved it.” That's for when I'm in bed, crying. The first song, Us by Gracie Abrams feat Taylor Swift started playing and I relate to the lyrics so much so I sang out the verse that has been stuck in my head. “I know you know It felt like somethin' old It felt like somethin' holy Like souls bleedin', so It felt like what I've known

If my life had a playlist, it would be a sad one. Alternative music would play, giving a dark and smoky vibe. A few low tempo rap songs, some Adele for a little variation. I decided to make this playlist, with the excuse that it would inspire me to write the most profound and insightful essays for college. What is your favorite book, and how has it impacted your life? I can’t say Fifty Shades of Grey, can I? NEXT What is your favorite song?

“I’ve been working on something for you. For us, really. I wanted to do it while you were sleeping last night.” My curiosity piqued. “What is it?” He handed me his phone, already open to a music app. The playlist was titled simply: “For Ivy – Every Step” I felt my breath catch as I scrolled through it. There were dozens of songs, carefully chosen and arranged. Some were upbeat tracks that reminded me of our early rehab sessions. Others were slower, emotional ballads that spoke to the quiet nights we’d shared. A few were songs I’d mentioned in passing during late-night conversations — ones that made me think of strength, healing, and falling in love.

And maybe - just maybe - we’ll be able to let go. I’m finally back on track with my blog. It feels so familiar to be writing again like I was never gone. Upon checking my last post, I saw an old comment. Hi Black Banter! I’m really into “Be Alone No More” by Ànother Level recently. I think it’s gonna fit in on your playlist. Hope you’ll like it :) – A Ah, a possible first song to my playlist. “Paul! Paul!” My officemate, Liana, called out my name.

<3 Keep growing, always! While writing I have Sp****y on with a playlist I created called "Songs to write books to" playing. Some times the songs do influence what happens in the chapters, so I thought that I would share that with you. ***Please keep what you do to legal activities ;) LOL***

Benny climbs onto the couch sitting in between us, “Did you get the songs down?” I nod, “Yep, and I got the duets down and The Pretty Reckless. The lead singer has this whole Joan Jett thing going on, which you know I love.” “You did listen to the rest of the playlist…. Didn’t you?” he asks wearily. He knows I only do a couple of tunes with them and go back to work, but sometimes I stay, which pisses him off when I haven’t gotten the songs down. “Yes, don’t worry, I got it and thank you for adding Juliette and The Licks to the list” I wink at him so he’ll relax, “Aside from that, have you heard of Halestorm’s - white dress?”
