Boring Books For Bedtime Novels & Stories

He slammed the door shut. Noah lay on his bed and stared at the ceiling. His room was well furnished and was everything a standard room should be. A large bookshelf was at one end of the room. It was always filled with the latest novels. He stretched his hand a picked the novel on his bedside table. He usually read novels to pass time. He finished one every night and it was replaced with a new one in the morning by the servant. Unknown to anyone, he had insomnia. He seldom slept , hence, he used the novels to pass time. “Your lifestyle is so boring. How does a story entertain anybody? Horror, thrillers, silly romance, history—blah, blah, blah. It’s a waste of time.” “You mean you’ve never read a storybook?” she asked, amused. “If books weren’t necessary for studying, I’d never open one.” “You’re unbelievable. Your response alone is enough to make me fall asleep. I’m leaving,” she said, yawning as she stood. “Wait,” he grabbed her hand, making her look back at him. “Will you sleep in my room if I tell you a bedtime story?” he asked. My hands were cold like ice. A long time went by. The light from the window changed. My eyes felt heavy. To not sleep, I looked at the books on his shelf. One book made me look. It was about plants that makes you well. It made me think of my mother. She knew all about those things. I took the book and sat back down. I started to read. The words were not easy, but I tried. My eyes got more heavy and more heavy. The fear and being tired from last night took me. My head went down. The book fell on my legs as I slept.

The stories we picked were genuinely entertaining, each one filled with humor and adventure. The hours melted away, unnoticed. Under the soft glow of the wall-mounted oil lamps and the candles burning from the chandelier above, along with those flickering inside the candle holders scattered across Bruno’s worktable, the room was bathed in a warm, golden haze.
