The instructor bounced three gym balls onto the floor and chaos exploded in the room. Melody was able to run, duck and dodge the flying projectiles well at the start of the game. It seemed like the other students were taking out their own personal grudges first. Once the herd thinned out, Melody became a highly sought after target. She twisted and turned, just doing her best to avoid being hit, but rarely trying to snag a ball to throw. All defense, no offense. If she came across a ball she would pick it up and toss it high overhead to her teammates in jail behind the other team.

Susan and Mike didn’t say a word when they found small motion-activated cat balls in every single room, from the first-floor foyer to the third-floor study. The children gasped. I grinned and flicked my wrist. The ball shot upward, then burst into a shower of tiny, glittering sparks that shimmered in the air before fading. Except—the sparks didn’t fall. They folded, condensed, shaping themselves into wings of light. The ball fluttered, beating its glowing wings, before swooping playfully over the children’s heads. Their squeals of delight filled the street. “Again! Again!” The ball zipped downward, darting between their hands as though teasing them. Every time they reached for it, it danced away, chirping with a sound that wasn’t entirely earthly.

It was instead reflected in its origin. Mira was caught off guard and unable to flee when the ball's momentum caused it to bounce back in her direction. Her jaw dropped as she watched the electric ball speed away. She was like a boomerang, and so was her raging anger. Her strength would hit her!

The green glow in its eyes intensified, and a powerful suction erupted from the glassy orbs, yanking the white ball along a green thread, slowly drawing it toward the doll's eyes. The white ball struggled violently in midair, its edges leaking wisps of white light—the marks of a soul being torn apart. With each silent tremor, the air in the basement rippled. Great place to hit some balls. I dump the balls all over the roof. I pick one up and give it a squeeze. I toss it up and swing the bat as hard as I can. I connect and the ball goes into the practice field bouncing across it and almost hitting the dorms. I grab another. I bounce it on the roof and catch it. Throw it up and hit it with a growl. It flies through the air and hits the second story wall of the dorm two building. I do this a dozen more times. But I'm still feeling agitated. I have about fifty more balls to get this out of my system.

"It means you need to stand back a little bit. If you don't move back, your breasts will collapse this table." "Lucius!” I complained, slightly red face back. He wants me to stand back. Why don't you just tell me? Why do you have to laugh at me like that? I took a step back with a cold snort, continued to aim for the white ball, waited for my breath to stabilize and then gently putted. A clear sound. The white ball hit the red ball with precision. The red ball sped forward and hit the table. Instead, the white ball, after the collision, bends back left and clangs into the pocket.

I leaned over the table, feeling my dress rise slowly, any new movement and it would really rise more. I tilted my bat in the direction of the white ball and with all the strength I could, still feeling my injured hand burn, I threw the beak of the bat towards it towards it, watching it run towards three bubbles purposely positioned in front of one of the holes.

Caelora’s fingers danced in the air, and the small ball of water hovering in her palm began to expand. It swirled and shimmered, catching the light like liquid silver. I held my breath as the ball grew larger, its surface rippling and distorting until it no longer looked like water at all but a perfect window into another world.

I ask and throw the ball again, this time it goes through the net, making a 'swish' sound. "Try to get the ball from me," he says and starts bouncing the ball fast on the floor. I laugh, shaking my head. "You wanna make me fall and sprain my ankle or something? We have prom tomorrow." "You won't fall. C'mon.." he ushers, bouncing the ball even faster whilst running around. I laugh and start to chase him. "You have to come from my front. Not from behind," he laughs. "Oh..okay," I chuckle going to him from his front, trying to grab the ball. But he bounces it extremely fast in between his hands and legs, moving backward and forward and sideways. I can barely see the ball, let alone catch it.
