he asks again, taking a slow sip of his black coffee. I let out a small huff, leaning back in my chair. "Oh, you know… absolutely fantastic," I say, my tone dripping with sarcasm. "First, I wake up to your staff giving me weird looks just because I dared to make myself breakfast. Then, your mother ambushes me to remind me that the kitchen isn't my place. And, to top it all off, I get blindsided by your long-lost brother." I stab my fork into a piece of pancake with more force than necessary, my appetite fading just thinking about it. "So yeah, just another totally normal morning."

The first day of Spring Break was a slow, suffocating descent into madness. I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sun shining, a perfect, beautiful day that felt like a personal insult. My mom was in a cheerful mood, humming as she made pancakes, the sweet, buttery smell hitting me like a physical assault. Crystal teased him. "How was it? Good or awesome? Who was the top?". She added winking. "Silly girl, for sure I was the top. Since when did you start talking naughty?". Adrian asked. "What did you make for breakfast?". Adrian added. "Tofu but haven't you already had breakfast in bed all night". Crystal giggles, emphasising on the word " all night". "C'mon, stop teasing me. Yes, the all night breakfast is making me hungry again ". Adrian said, giving a puppy eyes.

“Why would you even think of that? Are you really suspecting?” I said sarcastically followed by a loud laugh. “Where’s my breakfast? Aren’t we supposed to eat before embarking on any journey or before going sight- seeing? What type of service do they have here that food isn’t ready by 10am in the morning?” He lamented angrily.
