Cain's Crossing was full to the brim with Memento Mori, and frankly, he (she) thought that Lacey would love what she had done. He (she) surveyed her creation, her accomplishment once more, allowing a wistful smile to cross her face. He (she) reached into the pockets of her pants and pulled out a pair of earbuds, placing them into her ears. Soon, he (she) was flooded with a stuttering punk rock beat.

I was tangled with the wind, the invisible wall squeezing me tighter. The blackened clouds cracked, and deep reds covering the cracks in the sky had me shaking my head in disbelief. Where was Luci? Animals from the forest scattered on the beach, each one falling to the ground by an invisible force. They cried in pain as they tried to run away from the invisible entity holding them hostage.

**Nancy's POV** My heart clenches as I hear the sounds of crashing of car. It isn't quite away from me. Just some metres away from where I am standing. Wait! The car with Zion was going through the same way. Thinking that it might be him, I quickly rush towards that direction. The place is all smoky and the huge thick flames of black smoke is covering the air in there. The foul smell of lubricants and burning of car parts is quite sickening but it's not what I went to search in there.

I'm worried because I might not be able to continue my walk tomorrow if the rain won't stop. When I woke up, the air was cold and dry. I went out to look around. The ground was wet as were the tree leaves. I looked up and the sky was dark. But the bad weather didn't stop me. My father's condition was getting worse everyday and I can't just sit back and watch the day passed without any clue. I will continue my walk today even if the weather was bad.

The sky didn’t just change; it fractured like a mirror hit by a sledgehammer. Great white gashes of "nothingness" tore through the horizon, revealing the cold, humming void behind the world. The clouds weren't drifting; they were dissolving into long strings of black ash that dissolved before they hit the ground. Every breath I took tasted like burnt copper and ozone. "Kaima! The people!" Rowan’s voice was a raw, desperate roar that barely pierced the screeching sound of reality tearing apart.

To a two-day-old infant who could not answer. Dawn looked at her instead. Then looked up. Then Aria watched this happen, watched it with her own eyes and still wasn't sure she believed it—the clouds above them pulled apart. Just above their path. Just ahead of them. A corridor of open sky appearing in overcast that had been solid thirty seconds ago. Stars. Enough light to see by. Barely. But enough. People around them made sounds. Relief sounds. Moving faster now, able to see their feet, able to see the person in front.

Austen's POV I slammed into the barrier, my Alpha power flaring like a supernova. "BREAK!" A flood of golden energy erupted from me, tearing a small, passable crack in the barrier. I dove through it without a second thought. The scene before me made my heart stop. A giant beast was lunging at Evelyn. She was on her knees, her hand trembling as she clutched her stomach. My child... she was still carrying my child! "EVELYN!"

I heard tires splash through a puddle nearby, then a voice cut through the rain. “Christ! Captain! What are you doing under the rain?” My head turned slowly, more out of instinct than curiosity. It was Ms. Beckett.

I refuse to allow myself to look away. After my eyes adjust, I look around at my surroundings. The sky stretches endlessly above me, gray-blue and streaked with slow-moving clouds. I stare at it like it might disappear if I blink too long. I forgot how big it was. Forgot how... exposed it feels. Like standing under something that sees everything. "Move," the guard snaps behind me. This time, I do. The path curves away from the prison, winding along the mountainside until it opens into a wide clearing carved into the rock. And that's where I see them.

Nothing seemed wrong. After several frustrating minutes, he opened the oil tank. His brows knitted together. ‘Water?” His eyes widened in confusion. "How?" He stared at the cloudy mixture in disbelief. "That's impossible." The cap had been locked. No one should have been able to touch it. Unless… Someone had done it deliberately. A loud clap of thunder interrupted his thoughts. Then the heavens opened. Rain crashed everywhere and onto the parking lot within seconds, soaking everything in sight. Leon hurried beneath the entrance roof, hugging his bag against his chest as the rain grew heavier.
