Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

I mutter. That gets Brie’s attention. She growls as she runs towards me, transforming into a black wolf. She grabs me by my neck and slams me against the ground with a heavy thud. I scream as she bites into my neck, but I fight back. I've already had a sharp pocket knife with me, for self-defense. I've never had to use it, but today, I take it and drive it into Brie's shoulder. She whimpers in pain as she lets go of my neck, but the damage has already been done. I lay on the ground, slowly drifting into unconsciousness. My blood is everywhere.

"The astrologer said, as soon as you sign here, your stars will immediately align with Charlie's. You… You have to sign… Please." I took the pen without hesitation and signed my name. As I finished the final stroke and lifted my gaze, I met Adrian's venomous gaze. I could see it clearly now—the signs of his decline were written on his face, darker and more defined than ever before. "Claire… Milton… You bitch, how dare you betray me!" he roared. He was about to lunge at me when his body suddenly froze. He clutched his chest, and his face contorted in agony. Then, he coughed up a torrent of crimson blood.

He stepped inside the demon’s swing, pivoted sharply— And drove his blade upward beneath the general’s armor. The steel stopped just short of Kharvek’s throat. Silence fell instantly. The duel was over. Kharvek froze. Adrian held the blade steady. “Yield,” Adrian said quietly. The demon’s jaw tightened. But he finally lowered his weapon. “I yield.” Adrian stepped back. The court erupted again—some cheering, others murmuring in disbelief. High above them, Vaelreth stood slowly from his throne.

Still, I wasn't taking chances. I lit a thick black candle and set it burning slowly, and then flipped on a signal jammer. Soon, the room was filled with haze. The frightened Gatekeepers felt hope returning to their hearts. Even the widening crack in the sky stopped growing.

Brian shuddered, unable to accept the truth. Yet, at that moment, he did not have the time to feel shocked as he immediately reacted. HE started to form seals again, and the sinister wind started to howl as the white figures stood in front of him as shields. As he summoned up those souls, he frantically retreated. The moment the Broken Soul Blade clashed with the shields, Brian could hear clear cracks. He was shocked to notice that the shields had been absorbed the moment they touched the Broken Soul Blade.

Something worth considering. ... Later that night, Briella carefully tucked the children into bed, then quietly drove away from the villa. Her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and answered using the car’s speaker. “Hello? Iron Blade? Any progress?” Iron Blade stood by a window with his phone, two people leaning annoyingly close on either side. He cupped the speaker. “Can you two back off?” Austin and Sage: “No!” Iron Blade sighed, then answered, “Briella, it’s not good. Zero still hasn’t replied. We’re down to our final method.”

I yelled, running up to where I had left them “Brielle? Brielle!” I found Zane on the ground, clutching his side, blood seeping through his shirt and onto the floor. Her cry of terror was audible through the thin wall of the house, and I panicked, standing. I had seen the blade before in some of my father’s books. It was a Binding Blade.
