Claiming Brielle
I ask as she begins to move.
“Celebratory drink,” she responds. “My little bro is finally beginning to move on from that bitch.”
Her words are like a knife to the chest, and I immediately regret asking. The last thing I wanted was a reminder of her, especially when things were starting to go well here.
“Make sure to get enough for me,” I manage before heading toward the bar exit. “You owe me a beer.”
Nodding, Darlene continues to make her way to the bar while I head outside and start to look around. Since night was coming, the street was beginning to pick up due to it being in the entertainment district, but despite my searching, I couldn’t find Brielle anywhere.
