Adrian POV The ball spirals through the air, perfect trajectory, and I'm exactly where I need to be. My hands close around nothing. The ball bounces off my chest and hits the turf. "Cross!" Coach Rowan's voice booms across the field. "That's three in a row. What the hell is wrong with you?" I jog back to the line without answering. My hands are fine. My positioning is fine. Everything is technically correct. Except I can't focus for more than five seconds without seeing Jules' face.

At least the live one's did since most of the bees died after stinging Brady. Zion's eyes were no longer on Brady, they were settled on the principal's figure at the door, his jaw set and his demeanor rigid. There was something odd about this entire situation, but I couldn't put a finger on it. All I knew was that by the look on Zion's face, he had something to do with this little stunt on Brady.

Just as she was speaking, a light cough sounded behind her. Zac laughs as he relights the end of his blunt before leaning himself back into the couch. "You're funny." Zac says, exhaling as he looks up at Jack with a calm demeanor. Jack stares down at Zac with an intimidating look, having Zac stare directly back at him, calmly as he continues to hit the blunt. "I'll beat your fucking ass bro. Don't touch her, don't talk to her, honestly, don't even go near her when I'm not around." Jack states as he grabs my arm before snatching me up from the couch. "You'll beat my ass?" Zac questions as he lets out a deep laugh.
