Broken Night

Broken Night

In his time as a True Crime writer, Byron had interviewed many people, many of them disturbed or troubled in some way. In these interviews, he would often run up against what he called The Breakdown, to the point where, due to the pressures of telling him their story a person would hit an unknown well of feelings and just… shut down, usually in a maelstrom of tears. They always recovered but it was at a point that Byron always hated, even dreaded.

Breaking you

Breaking you

She was halfway through when the others left to start working on those documents. "So... How are you? How is everything?" "All is well." "You sound like that Bollywood movie we watched. Ahhh Rancho?" "Haha. Yes." "I still don't get the love you two have for foreign languages." Uncle Peter chimed in holding a folder in his hands. "That's because we want to have options when the Tower of Babel falls again." They laughed at that. "Who said it was being built again?" "It is! Somewhere." "Yeah yeah. Let's just enjoy the weekend you crazy kids."

The Billionaire’s Blood Proxy

The Billionaire’s Blood Proxy

The Obsidian Tower did not merely stand; it loomed, a jagged needle of pressurized carbon and reinforced glass that seemed to bleed into the low-hanging smog of the city. To the millions living in the slums below, it was a monument to the "New Stability." To Alexander Vance, it was a giant, vertical server housing the parasite that was wearing his father's face.

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

"I am the Red-Algorithm. I am the 'Evolution' you were too afraid to become. And the Bridge you want to build? I’ve already finished it." Miller pointed to the horizon. Over the Pacific, a massive, digital tower was rising, a structure made of pure red light that reached toward the stars. "The 'Tower of Babel'," Miller whispered. "And this time, the gods are the ones who are going to fall." Leo looked at the red tower. He felt a faint, cold hum in the base of his skull. The Algorithm was calling him. "Pack up," Leo said, his human eyes narrowing. "We’re going to climb that thing and tear it down."

Feral on the Ice

Feral on the Ice

Kael said, looking at Julian. The boy from the chemistry lab looked up, his face pale and shattered. The violet was gone, replaced by a hollow, haunting blue. “You... you broke the chord,” he rasped. “But Viktor... he doesn't need a conductor anymore. The towers... they’ve reached critical mass. The shift is already starting.” As if on cue, the ground beneath them began to shake. A distant, booming sound echoed from the surface—the sound of the Crestwood Academy towers reaching full power.

he said. "A hologram of Freddy Kruger ripping a kid in half I guess," Frances said. He laughed. "A kid tied to a tree and being tickled by slender hands." "Please say less of that." Frances quivered. "Okay, no horror talks tonight," he said. "Maybe you could tell me about the EGG machine," Frances said.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

A very important tower. Reasonable honestly. The tallest tower she'd attempted all week. God. Several blocks high. Fair. Dangerously high. Reasonable. Then disaster struck. God. The tower collapsed. Fair. Spectacularly. Reasonable. Blocks flew everywhere. God. One bounced off a cushion. Fair. Another rolled beneath a chair. Reasonable honestly. Total destruction. God. Normally Lily would've been annoyed. Fair. Instead she stared. Reasonable. Then suddenly laughed. God. A huge laugh.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Broken Bad Boy

Broken Bad Boy

HAILEY We arrived at the old warehouse where the party was held. It was crowded that we could barely make it to see their stupid game. Two students were assigned to record the game. The crowd started laughing when one of the jocks asked an overweight student who looked so drunk. If he wasn’t tied, he might have fallen off the chair.

SOLD TO THE VOID ALPHA: THE REJECTED HEIRESS

SOLD TO THE VOID ALPHA: THE REJECTED HEIRESS

CHAPTER 41: THE ASH OF THE IVORY TOWER The collapse of the Ivory Spire wasn't a clean break. It was a slow, agonizing groan of steel surrendering to the Void. As Dante and I crawled from the secondary wreckage near the harbor, the sky over Lagos wasn't black or blue—it was a bruised, pulsating violet. The "Obsidian Rift" at the summit hadn't vanished; it had anchored itself to the stump of the building, feeding on the city’s backup power grids.
