Blood of The Shattered Moon
We endure it together, the pain washing over us in waves, until finally—finally—it begins to fade.
We're left gasping on the floor, tears streaming down our faces, but alive. Whole. The vial shatters, and the altar dissolves. The Veil of Faces floats down from its pedestal and settles into my trembling hands.
"You have passed all three trials," the priestess's voice says, now gentle. "You have seen truth, spoken truth, and endured truth. The Veil is yours. Use it wisely."
Kael helps me to my feet, and we stand there holding the Veil, both of us shaking from the ordeal.
