It felt good to laugh again for the first time in a long time . ~AMARA. The kitchen smelled of chocolate and butter. I stood over the counter, sleeves rolled up, apron dusted with cocoa powder and flour, carefully folding the batter like Fiona had instructed Nero like it best. Brownies. Apparently, Nero’s favorite as a child—according to Fiona, anyway. I didn’t quite believe it. The idea of Nero De Santoro as a child who liked brownies felt… improbable. Still, I did it even though I wasn't certain he’d appreciate it.

I've asked her about my scroll mark and she told me that it meant I was an ally of the forest fae and given their blessings and perhaps a bit of fae magic.
