She didn’t look pleased. I could tell by the way she shifted her weight from foot to foot, and the expression she displayed. The irritation was clear on her face. I regretted putting her through this. She had been standing for hours. Before I could say anything, I heard the sound of a voice. It was Alpha Bruce. Bruce was from the Westbrook Pack, and if there was one thing I despised, it was him. The man had a reputation for being ruthless, cruel, and careless. He had a Luna, yet he paraded his illegitimate children like trophies.

The warmth of his lips sent an unexpected shiver through her, but her heart felt conflicted. Bruce was off. Something wasn’t being said. After the encounter, Damian wasted no time in tracking down Bruce. He found him leaning against a wall in the courtyard, lighting a cigarette. Damian didn’t bother with pleasantries. He grabbed Bruce by the arm, dragging him into the shadows where no one could see them. “Why didn’t you tell Xander?” he demanded. Bruce exhaled a long trail of smoke before answering. “Because I didn’t want to get your ass burnt and your eyes plucked from their sockets,” he said, flicking ash to the ground.

Bruce asked, cheeks flushing red. Jaxon noticed and smirked. He loved how easily some guys fell apart around him. “Sure,” he said casually. Bruce hugged him quickly—almost desperately—inhaling Jaxon’s scent and smiling against his shoulder. “You smell so good,” Bruce murmured as they pulled apart. “I know,” Jaxon shrugged. “Don’t think about me all night, okay?” He cupped Bruce’s face playfully, then turned and strolled toward the mansion. Bruce stood there blushing, eyes lingering on Jaxon’s retreating figure.

Chapter 22 - Dex. Pov. It took all my self-control not to pull Lilly out of Bruce’s hands and charge at him. You don’t have to be a psychic to know what they were planning. The smell of Lilly’s arousal was like a slap in the face the moment Bruce opened the door. Drake is still growling in my head, trying to push me to go after them. The thought of Bruce touching her like that is driving him crazy. And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a hard time with it myself.

After several long minutes of him worshipping my breasts, neck, and shoulders, he pulled back slightly, eyes dark with lust. “Turn over, baby.
