I huffed a laugh, pressing a kiss to his head. “A bear, huh? You think I’ve got time to build one before breakfast?”
“Yes!” he insisted, his little hands patting my chest. “Big bear. Strong bear. With me.”
Kat laughed softly, the sound breaking through the tension like sunlight. She reached out, brushing her fingers against Koda’s back, then letting them linger on mine.
