I wanted to look them in the eyes and be absolutely sure these two fools were dead before I walked away.
Turning back toward the compound, I pulled a small incendiary device from my belt. I started burning each of the wooden buildings one by one, tossing the fire into the windows and watching the dry wood catch instantly. Within minutes, massive, roaring orange flames were rising everywhere around the whole building, lighting up the dark forest sky with a brilliant, destructive glow.
The heat was intense against my skin as I finally walked back to the pile of bodies to burn them last and finish my job. I raised my foot, preparing to cast the flame down, when a sudden movement caught my eye.
