The shadow staggered, its storm of faces shredding under the attack, black dissolving into sparks. But the fire wasn't stopping. It wanted more. The flames clawed deeper, hunting for the shadow's heart under all those masks. I followed them, driving forward with everything left in me. My burned hands grabbed the shadow's core, a knot of writhing darkness, pulsing like a second heart. It thrashed. Voices shrieked. My veins nearly burst from the heat. But I held on, screaming through my teeth as fire poured out of me, eating the dark.

Javi then looked out at the view … there was a breathtaking view from the top of this hill. After a few minutes lost in his thoughts he went to the car and got something. He came back and put the cards in the tin. He then took out a lighter and lit them up. I smiled, feeling like this was the ultimate ending to this chapter. “I was one of her biggest doubters,” Javi said. We watched them burn, and Javi dropped it back in the little hole I had dug, and covered up the ashes.

One could tell it was dangerous. Suddenly two shadows emerged from the dark five steps from where she stood. She step back watching the two shadows cautiously. "No!" One of the shadows cried. Its voice covered with fear. The other shadow took out something that looks like a gun and pointed it at the other one. "This is my parting gift for you." The shadow whispered before pulling the trigger. A loud bang echoed in the whole place, taking away the stillness of the night.

The mysterious figure threw two black playing cards at Alex. The two cards flew towards Alex's face, but thanks to his quick reflexes, Alex managed to dodge them.
