I just wanted to be home in arms of my parents. I can actually be hugged now. I can hug them as much as I want without the fear of becoming ill. I shot out of bed at the thought, my smile so bright it was visible in the dark.bi couldn't sit still anymore so I jumped out of the bed and jumped around trying to wear myself out. It too exciting now. I looked up at the clock. Three o'clock. Only a couple more hours, I tell my self as I stand by the window, my eyes immediately going to the moon which is illuminating the night with its silver glow.

It wasn’t signed. Kael would never let me go. Lucien would only follow if it amused him. But the words burned in my mind until I could think of nothing else. When the moon hung high, I slipped out, hood drawn low. The streets of Ebonveil were slick with fog, lamplight bending in the mist. The Blood and Moonlight Tavern stood at the edge of neutral territory—a place where vampires, wolves, and even humans could meet under strict rules of truce. Inside, the air was thick with smoke and candlelight. Shadows clung to the corners, and the scent of spiced wine mingled with the metallic tang of blood.

**The Silent Treatment** Elder Thorne stood beneath the ethereal glow of the moonlight, his heart swelling with both reverence and awe as he faced the moon goddess, a divine figure of unmatched beauty and power. Her silvery robes flowed around her like a celestial waterfall, shimmering gently as the soft breeze rustled the leaves overhead. The moon's radiant light poured forth, illuminating the sacred glade where he had ventured, his spirit filled with hope and purpose, seeking the moon goddess's wisdom to guide Caden, the young alpha, in his quest for a suitable luna.

Narrator's pov Full Moon The moon hung high, casting a silvery light over the quiet landscape. The air was thick with the pull of the lunar cycle, a force so powerful that the earth seemed to pulse beneath it. Arianna stood at the window of her room, her fingers firmly brushing the cool glass. Drawn to the moon since childhood, she felt its silent dance across the night sky beckoning to her. The howl of wolves echoed through the valley below, sending a shiver down her spine. The sound was all too familiar, but tonight, it felt sharper, more intense.

The moon stares right back at me. That’s the first thing I notice when sleep just won’t come. Up above the Alpha house, it hangs there—sharp, white, slicing through the clouds like a knife through skin. Moonlight spills in through the tall windows, lays silver stripes across the floor, across me. I’m stretched out in this bed that still feels foreign, nerves buzzing, my wolf shifting restlessly under my skin. I’m awake. Waiting.

Kael replied. “Helpful explanation.” He gave her a small smile. “They tell the story of the Twenty Moons.” Luna ran her fingers across one of the glowing carvings. The moment she touched it, a powerful wave of energy rushed through her. Her vision exploded with light. Suddenly she wasn’t standing in the stone circle anymore. She was somewhere else. A massive sky stretched above her. Twenty enormous moons filled the darkness, glowing in different colors—silver, blue, violet, gold.

"The Guardians are going to try to round up some Strigoi to either bring here or to collect blood from. They left not too long ago. They should be back in a couple hours." She grumbled incoherently as her stomach released a terrifyingly loud growl. My eyes widened and looked at her stomach. "How in the world did your stomach just produce that noise?" I asked astounded. "I told you I'm hungry, and I'm starting to feel it." She said annoyed. "Are you sleepy?" I asked worriedly. "A little. It's starting to become harder to control my wolf. The full moon is tonight. If I don't get blood before the moon rises completely, I won't be able to control the Shift." She said looking up at me. Her eyes w

About forty maids stepped forward, each holding two baskets, and one by one they opened them. The butterflies escaped from their temporary homes and flew freely into the sky. There were too many to be counted. “Naeris, look!” I pointed at the sky and turned to face her, hoping she was looking. “This…” Her small mouth fell open as she stood beside me. “Is magical.” “If that is magical… watch this.” I smugly said and snapped my fingers. One by one, the butterflies lit up in glowing colours. They flew above us, covering the moon in a veil of shimmering light. I sneaked a glance at Naeris and saw how caught up she was with everything, her eyes reflecting the dancing glow.

We froze as we watched a shiny white butterfly flutter between us and then land on our clasped hands. “That's strange…a butterfly out at night,” he said softly and I added, “It's glowing too.” “Hmm maybe it's a sign from the Moon Goddess herself,” Jasper offered and I shook our hands to get it off but the damn bug stayed glued on. Laughing at me, Jasper said, “Guess she's stressing her point that we should stick together.” I side-eyed him curiously, then exhaled softly when he kissed my temple, because it was sweet and caused me to shiver, but not from coldness.

I spray quite a bit on its leaves and branches, and like moths to flame, the butterflies chase the scent in union. Because I used the Blue Moon Flower in my perfume, there’s a natural glow that it emits, creating a fluorescent light exactly like the Blue Moon Tree. By lacing the wings of all the butterflies with the perfume, their insect bodies glow a soft hue. Sparkling in a dance of color as they gently flap their wings whilst perching on the branches and leaves of the tree. I’m awed by the sight, and so is the crowd. I’m also just in time too. I’ve made the Blue Moon Tree glow!
