I was an employee at a secretive research lab located overseas, and I accidentally discovered an impending apocalypse known as the pyro-calypse, so I resigned from my job immediately. But before I left, I signed an NDA with the research lab that stated I must never leak any details about the apocalypse to other people to prevent mass panic on a global scale. After getting off the plane, I went home with my luggage in town. I hoped to convince my mom, Dorothy Locke, and my younger brother, Nicholas Kennedy, to head to the mountains, where we could stock up on supplies and tough out the apocalypse there.

Alpha Isaac would kill him and destroy his pack if I didn’t do what he wanted. Either way I had no choice. Maya looked sad for me but there was nothing she or anyone could do for me now. I was for it. The moon goddess sure did have some messed up plans for me. What did I ever do to deserve such rotten bad luck? I knew I should have listened to the alphas rules. No harm would have come to my mate if I had never met him, now I was going to have his blood on my hands. Perhaps I did deserve to die for my actions.

"Katherine," she says after taking a slow sip, "but my friends call me Kat." "Adam, but everyone calls me Emilio." "I think I'll stick with Adam," she replies haughtily, daring me to tell her otherwise. I lean in closer to her, trailing her body with my eyes again. I can't stop looking at her legs. She notices, and again raises an eyebrow.

I yelled He wasn’t able to look me in the eyes, his face showed nothing but pity, and he pitted me. "Where is Khalil Rayan? Where is he? Tell me where he is." I yelled "I’m sorry." He mumbled I shook my head "No, no. You aren’t sorry, you didn’t do anything wrong did you?" I sniffed walking backward "Khalil is fine, I know he is, there isn’t anything wrong with him. He is fine, right Rayan?" I asked as tears streamed down my cheek "Right Rayan" I walked towards me "Tell me Khalil is me, tell me you are mistaken. Please tell me Khalil is fine." I whimpered
