Calder orders with his eyes holding my tear filled ones. “NOW” everyone leaves the bathroom in a few quick seconds, leaving me alone with him. The room fills with silence other then the still flowing sound of the water that’s now starting to over flow the bathtub. Slowly he starts to walk towards me and I push the mirror into my neck more, making it well clear that I will slice if he does something wrong. He reaches his hands raised out slowly and turns the faucet off then slowly crouches down next to the tub. “I’m sorry Hart” his fake sympathies shine bright in his cold eyes and I want to stop him for it.

She exclaimed. "Well, you've been a great friend to me and it's only right that I appreciate your kindness." Caitlyn was silent for a few seconds. "I'm sorry, I can't take it," She finally said. "You have to. I don't have any use for it, so you should take it." "Martin," She drew his name as she palmed her face with her right hand. He laughed. "Goodnight, then," He said and hung up. "Whoo!" Caitlyn breathed out heavily as she stared at the figure again. "Four thousand dollars just for appreciation? What do I do with you, Martin? One minute you're a bastard and the next minute you're like an angel."

Despite also wanting to find out who the mystery girl is, I need to find out more about this Calista first, to understand how much of a problem she's going to be for me. "Tell me what your friend stopped you from saying earlier." I say, making my voice soft and smiling gently as her, she blushes again, raising her head to look into my eyes. "It's nothing really." I picked up one of the papers. Most of the writing had faded, but a few words remained visible. Subject: Lily Anderson. My blood ran cold. Lily saw it too. “That is my name,” she said and I nodded. She picked up another page. Her hands trembled as she read it. “Age six.” She swallowed. “Accelerated healing. Abnormal scent response. Early wolf manifestation.” She looked at me. “What does early wolf manifestation mean?” “I don't know.” She turned the page. “There is something else.”

The bottle in my hand felt like a live grenade. The label was unmistakable: High-Potency Calcium Support. In the werewolf world, these were the gold standard for strengthening the bone density of growing pups, but they were also used by the elderly or injured skaters recovering from a brutal season on the ice. "Do you usually interrogate people about every supplement they take to keep their frame from snapping?" I countered. My cheeks were burning, but I kept my voice as steady as a goaltender in a shootout.

As I read over the various numbers and data lines, I realized very quickly that I hardly understood any of it. "What does any of this mean?" I asked. The doctor walked over and began to point to various horizontal columns on the chart. "We did a blood panel," he told me. "We can determine Lycanthropy by reading the levels of hemoglobin, platelets, WBC, and various other things. Because Lycans have the ability to regenerate body tissue rapidly as a way to heal quicker, your white blood cell count is a very good indicator

"The chains also have silver in them which suppress the wolf." "Why isn't it burning me?" "That I do not know it is either a very small amount or it might be something to do with your elf side." "Then what is the purpose of you bringing me here? Does it have something to do with the Calendula flower?" he replied curiously, because still curious about his father's statement.

“We’ll complete the rite. Together.” — The Temple of Cinders stood atop Mount Varn, a jagged black peak said to be the heart of a long-dead volcano. The ancient lava that once spilled from it had cooled into obsidian spires, and from its summit, the wind howled like forgotten spirits. Her touch calmed the fire in him, yet stirred another flame entirely—one of desire, deep and unrelenting.
