The second call lasted even longer. Nothing. The irritation grew sharper. By the third attempt, my patience was completely gone. "Seriously?" I said in frustration. The call clicked. Then a robotic voice echoed through the speaker. The person you are trying to reach is unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone. My grip tightened around the phone. Unavailable. Again.

Not a single phone call or text in months. “What the fuck?” I growl, dialing the number. The automated voice on the other end says the person you are trying to reach is unavailable. This just got twice as fucking difficult.

His voice was flat. "Clearly you can count but apparently you cannot communicate because three days Ivin, three whole days of nothing and I am sitting in a room down here with no phone, no information, no idea what is happening and no idea if you are even still alive and you are just sitting here on a phone call like I am not even a thought in your head." He looked at me with that particular expression of his that I was starting to recognize, the one that meant he was listening but had no immediate plans to validate anything I was saying. Like my frustration was weather he was observing from indoors.

I looked to mom, and she leaned down next to me. “Honey, I can't hear you in my head, the link is not working for some reason. I don’t understand what’s wrong. But you have vocal cords as a wolf. Maybe you can still talk to Jacob”. Mom looked so sad. I think she was looking forward to talking to me, I know she was looking forward to it. Now I can't communicate to her as a wolf or out loud in human form. Heck I can't even text her as a wolf. I was suddenly not so happy to be a wolf. But I wanted to tell mom I still loved her and dad.

I reached for my phone, hoping to say something to Alisha, but unfortunately, the call wouldn't go through. I tried again, but it wasn't successful yet. Frowning, a realization dawned on me. I turned to Mireya and said, "Call Alisha now. Ask her where she is." Mireya looked puzzled, but she complied. Not surprisingly, the call connected immediately. Alisha had blacklisted me! Damn!

Nora said “That’s true, I think it’s best we call Melody and tell her about the situation here,” Lyon said before he brought out his phone and dialed her number. “She’s not answering the call,” he said immediately call cut off “Call her again” He tried calling the number again but it wasn’t reachable “Damn it, her number is always unreachable” he yelled “It might be network issues, you should try calling her later” Nora uttered “Damn! It’s not network fault ” Lyon yelled

She turned her head to look at Zachary. Zachary asked her gently, “Are you full, honey?” Serenity hummed. He fed her until she was full. “Stop glaring at Callum.” Serenity whispered while taking out her phone. When she called Camryn’s number, what answered her was a mechanical voice saying, “The number you’ve dialed is unavailable.” Camryn’s phone was turned off. Since she could not see, she did not have messaging apps. It would be hard to contact her if she did not pick up her calls.
