“I know.” She did not waste time on further warning. “There is a hidden blind two ridges over that Rowe stocked last autumn. We can reach it before full dark if we move now. From there we can signal the others and decide whether to push you back toward Crimson Hollow or keep you mobile.” I hesitated. Every part of me wanted to keep drawing the hunters away from Damon and Cato and the records. She found her locker and fumbled with the combination, her hands trembling slightly. As she opened it, she caught a glimpse of herself in the small mirror inside. Her long, curly silver hair cascaded down her back like molten moonlight, shimmering with an otherworldly glow. It was the kind of hair that defied explanation, the kind that drew eyes and sparked curiosity exactly what she didn't need.

"I say you'll last more than a week while Caleb here, says you won't last a week" Caleb smiled awkwardly and touched the back of his neck. Bellona squinted her eyes and observed Evelyn. She seemed human and certainly didn't know that Zephyr was a wolf. It seemed like only a few people knew Zephyr's true identity. "Thank you, Diana. I appreciate your consideration." There was a long silence before Diana spoke again. "Your Highness, may I ask you a question?" Damon sighed. "Of course, Diana." "Are you afraid of the dark?" Diana asked. Damon hesitated before answering. "No, I am not afraid of the dark. I have been blind since birth, so I have never known anything else." Diana was quiet for a moment before she spoke again. "I see. I'm sorry if I offended you."
