Candace Camp Books Novels & Stories

***** As evening settled over the forest, the rain eased into a soft drizzle. The air smelled of wet pine, woods and earth. Kaizen stepped outside to gather more firewood. Nyra wandered through the quiet cottage, she wasn't snooping, not intentionally. Curiosity simply led her down a narrow hallway she'd somehow missed before. At the end stood an old wooden door. Slightly open. She pushed it gently, a study. Dust floated lazily through beams of fading sunlight. Books lined every shelf….an antique desk stood beside the window. And on the wall…

She slowly stood up and put her clothes on. Alice and Candice was talking outside while laughing and waiting for Kamila to come out. They stopped when they heard clearing of throat behind them. Kamila wore a black dress. Candice pulled her free hand and they walked to where they parked the car. Kamila sat on the backseat while Alice is in the front, Candice was the designated driver today. They headed to the mall with loud music blaring on the car. Candice quickly parked her car and turned the stereo off. They got out of the car and entered the mall, one by one. They first went to the bookstore because Alice loves to collect some. They bought the newest book from her favorite author.

Kendra sat in the library with the book, The Hobbit, opened on her lap. When Rex had first shown the room that was lined with books to her, she’d been both intimidated and overwhelmed. She was taught to read by Olga, but the availability of reading material was limited. Therefore, her reading skills were wanting.

Xavier's presence alone was enough; he didn't need to display his aura to assert his dominance, knowing well that Canice was already deeply intimidated. Amid their standoff, the sharp click of high heels resonated on the wooden floor. In no time, Candice entered with the grace of a pageant queen, her appearance meticulously crafted to match the doll-like image her mother had always wanted her to look like. "So, you have the guts to come back..." Candice began, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Xavier. Mid-sentence, she faltered, her composure slipping as she completely drooled all over him. She tossed her hair back flirtatiously and flashed him a bright smile. "Hi, I'm Candice

She spared few seconds to look at me-"you are not playing safe Candice. And that is worrying me. Ever since Delroy flew into your life you have been losing focus. And I think you l-" "I do not like Delroy," I sternly said, my eyes burning a hole into her skull. "That is what you say but from what I have been observing, you might like Delroy and you are not ready to admit it. That is a problem because you try to gain your power back and end up making crazy decisions that have serious consequences. The condom already burst, we do not need a footage of you having sex with Gary in the office popping up. You need to either accept that you like Delroy or go back to the Candice Hunter I know that n

Camper laughed at his choice of words. ________ "It's your rest day, darling. Where are you going?" Candice asks her daughter. Winter's wearing her favorite cowgirl get-up. She put snacks in her bag and asked her mom for permission. She wants to relax at her cabin. "I'm just in my cabin, mom. Don't worry, I'll be back before seven pm. She winked at her mom before heading to the main door.

She turned the yellowed pages, running her finger over the black embossed words. "I'll take history," Casper announced grabbing the first book his hands landed on. He rested it against his chest, pacing the room as he flicked through the pages, sighing at every page turn. Gage opted for the Lycan section. Lena war and battles and Serena diaries of the royals. I went to the section on leadership and Alphas. Hours passed. The pile of discarded books in the middle of the room grew bigger and bigger as the books yet to read dwindled. Blake still tapped furiously at the laptop he rested on a small reading table. Lena joined Casper in sighing after each page turn.

I want to keep this to avoid everyone being suspicious about me. Well, I have a secret. I came to visit my sister's friend Catalina. Upon my mom's rehabilitation process, she was there. We met even I'm still young that day, I know exactly what Catalina looks like. They were so much alike by her sister so they think they're twins but that's not the truth. Catalina was Cassandra's little sister and she has a mental disorder where she loves copying someone. She's under the care of Cassandra when we saw her with dad. I hope someone didn't follow me.

"I hope I'm not interrupting." Connor's hand moved toward the vervain-soaked blade at his hip. But Candice was already there, her hand wrapped around his wrist with crushing force. "I wouldn't," she purred. "Vervain is terribly rude." Connor gasped in pain. She released him, and he stumbled backwards, clutching his wrist. "What do you want?" Tommy forced steel into his voice, though his heart hammered against his ribs. "You have no business—" "No business?" Candice's laugh was soft and terrible. "Oh, but I do. You see, I've recently learned something very interesting. Something about manipulations and frame jobs and orchestrated wars."

he says without wasting a breath. Kael dramatically rolls his eyes and drains whatever potent liquor is contained in his ornate golden flask. “Honestly, Zeke, you are pathetic. She’s my first cousin, so relax. And besides, you’ve literally had her all day. All. Fucking. Day. The entire camp heard you two shamelessly trying to snap the tent poles in half.” My jaw drops to the ground. Is this Kael? As in...Lycan King, my broody cousin, Kael??
