Shadow lifted her brow in wonder. The question did irk Caramel a lot. It was a sincere question from her as if her concern was legit. In the eyes of others, Caramel was a big deal. The strongest leader. Despite that, in front of Shadow, she was nothing but a mere fly that flew around her. She was annoying but it wasn't enough to draw Shadow’s full potential. To kill Shadow, she had to use up all her energy and talent but for Shadow to kill her was easier than picking the nose.

“And one and a half spoons of honey?” My fingers tightened around Aurora’s spoon, the metal pressing into my skin. “How did you know that?” I asked, my heart skipping a beat, a faint pulse flickering at my temple. “To make it caramelized,” he said softly, almost to himself. His gaze lingered on the carrots before shifting back to me. “Yes.” I forced a smile, though my lips felt stiff. “It balances the bitterness.” “And a pinch of chili flakes at the end,” he added, eyes still on me. “Just enough to leave heat on the tongue.” His brows lifted slightly, watching my reaction closely.

I parked my car at the nearest convenience store and walked towards the coffee trailer. There were 4 seats by the trailer and I was definitely their first customer. I approached the man inside the trailer who had his back on me. “Excuse me,” I said, flashing a big smile. He turned and he was an attractive redhead with ocean blue eyes. He warmly smiled back at me and leaned in. “Good morning!” he greeted joyfully. “Here's our menu, but I do suggest trying our Full English Breakfast with a Twist.” I took a seat at one of the high stools and propped my elbow on the table.

“Dad, what if we got one with chocolate and caramel? Like, mix them!” Ryan pretended to think deeply about this, tapping his chin. “Now that, James, is a genius idea. A chocolate caramel hybrid. We’ll call it… the ‘Caramel Choco-nado’! It’ll be legendary.” They both looked as if they had discovered something amazing and just needed to shout... Eureka !! I sighed, trying to suppress the amusement tugging at my lips. “You two are being ridiculous.” “We prefer the term ‘visionaries,’” Ryan corrected with a wink, making James giggle.

Good fun. I should say something about the carmel sauce. I buy real good stuff, for starters. Then I add extras, like really good rum, butter and plenty of rich imported cinnamon, all mixed in at a very low heat. They make it noticeably better. I know where she is ticklish so the carmel sauce went to those magical spots which made it even sweeter.

"Nope, the combo never appealed to me. I mean, salt on top of caramel, it just doesn't seem right."

" I assured him that I would and threw up the sign for ''I love you'' before we both ended the video call. When the call window closed, I was looking at a blank page which was supposed to be a seven-thousand word essay on the pre-operational stages of cognitive development. It was due in a week and I hadn't started on it. I rubbed my eyes which burned from staring at the screen for so long. The curtains were drawn over the windows, leaving the room dark except for the blue glow of the laptop's screen. I had been lying there for God knows how long, trying to outline the essay. But, every time I closed my eyes to think, I felt Cain's breath on my lips and his nose brushing against mine.

Unable to resist, I walked towards it. The anticipation built up as I opened the box, revealing a treasure trove of caramel cubes, each delicately wrapped in golden paper. The sight made my mouth water, and my craving for caramel took hold. It was a weakness of mine—I simply couldn't resist the allure of caramel. Looking at his bitter personality, it was hard to imagine that he could also have a liking for chocolate. But my thoughts quickly surrendered to the captivating allure of the shining caramel cubes, glistening under the warm glow of the light. They seemed to invite me to indulge in their sweet embrace.

Well, that wasn't a big deal for him. Justin sat on the couch, observably finding it hard to ignore the huge hole on it because he had his eyes wide opened then shook his head to get his gaze off it. "I believe you would love some tea." Caramel said, walked slowly to where he was, a dirty look drawn on her face, placed her phone on the table to equally illuminate the room with the phone's torch. "Yes, of course." He smiled, rubbed his palms with an adorable grin on his face. "Sorry to bother you but I hope you don't mind if I have the lemon flavored." He smiled sheepishly.
