Harley looked exhausted and pale, but the steady rhythm of her breathing was promising. And that was all that mattered! I was trying to remember the medicines I took after my first shift when Lucian’s stunned cry resonated in the room. “What is that?” My gaze snapped toward him, and I saw him pointing toward Harley, his finger trembling. I followed his finger and froze for a moment. A glowing mark bloomed briefly on Harley’s forehead, a radiant red phoenix-shaped flower, pulsing with ancient power. It shimmered for a few seconds before fading completely, leaving her skin smooth and unmarked.

RIX's P.O.V. Harley was fuming, he ran into Cartier’s family company. Well, it wasn't that far from the retail store I'm buying from. Damn! I almost forgot how mad he could become! "HARLEY, STOP!" I shouted, but I found it hard to catch up with him. "Gosh. HARLEY! STOP, PLEASE!" But he won't listen. He kept on running, and he was now at the gate! "Mr. Guard, could you help me with this?" I asked, pertaining to the papers I'm holding.

Rosalie said, Harley was skeptical. She had heard such excuses from Rosalie before, but this time she was not taking any chances. "Rosalie, I don't believe you. You have been lying to me, and I cannot sit back and watch you trample over our Kingdom like this, and If you know that you don't have the strength to build up a kingdom, better try a cartel, I believe that will be better and less expensive, you can even make more money than having a kingdom” Harley explained,

Harley groaned at her, stamping her feet on the concrete floor, making me think it was a habit she had. “If I'm siding with Catherine's daughter, what are you going to do about it?" El asked, poking Harley in the face. Harley gave a short sarcastic laughter, and suddenly, we heard the trigger of a gun. “Are you going to kill me? Have you forgotten you can't kill… “ "An elder, I haven't forgotten, but have you forgotten you were stripped of her title because you went after the wolves,” Harley said, her voice sounding devious; she is the devil.

I heard a commotion coming from some of the office girls across the room which broke me out of my mind swirl. “Have you seen Mr. Hottie out there with the super sports car.” One of them gushed. Please don’t let this be Logan. I thought. The girls were all gushing over some guy outside. I looked over one of their shoulders and sighed. “Leah, isn’t that the guy who was at the bar last week?” One of my closest colleagues asked me a little too loudly, to drop me in it. “Yeah, that’s Logan Carter.”

Marietta entered and saw him looking uneasy, his hair rough and his eyes swollen as if he had been crying, but he only just left the rest downstairs less than five minutes ago. “Harley, as you okay?” “I don't know, I just feel uneasy since the Laufey pack retreated, I feel like something bad is going to happen to you and them and I might not be able to stop it from happening. I can't, I don't know what to do.” Harley said, in one breath.

He mumbled and slowly walked to his bed. * * Harley was still very much awake as he chatted with Jasper on a video call via his laptop. They talked about their next move and the recent successful operation. "So..... any other petty attack?" Jasper asked. Harley laughed it off. "No but I know who ever it was....is waiting for another good opportunity. And I, Harley Finley...will be waiting." Jasper laughed. "You've always been waiting. You are like the invisible wind. I have something important to attend to...."

I walked out of the living room and down to the ground floor using the elevator. Everyone dropped their heads in greeting once more and I returned their accolades before heading out to my car in the parking lot. Harley was leaning against my car, just as he had stated. "Hey, Bruce, guess what?" He said as I approached the car. "I'm thinking of becoming a stand-up comedian." "You're kidding, right?" I responded. "With jokes as good as that, I'm sure you'll make it small." "You're just jealous of my wit," he teased, winking at me. "Seriously though, this is the best car in town. Give me the keys; I'll be drinking tonight."

Harley POV As soon as Daniel left, I called my friend, Ray Wilcox. He answered on the first ring, “Hey, Harley, what’s up? I haven’t heard from you in forever.” I smiled at his eagerness, “Hey Ray, it has been a long time. A lot has happened since the last time we talked. First, I am divorced now and I’m only designing clothes for fun. Next, I started selling my flea market finds. I have a shop called History Recreated, History Reclaimed. You should stop in and see it.”

And Raul did his best to cover me. Just as I got to the place where my motorcycle was parked, I heard it. My K2 black panther main battle tank, approaching in its full speed. Proud of my investment, a humorous giggle escaped me. Harley and Izzy were mounted on the tank, fully armored, grinning like lunatics. The sight of them further warmed my heart. "We are bringing the war to you bitches!" Harley hollered. I laughed. The bike’s engine roared to life and I sped off.
