The beast leapt. Time fractured. I saw every detail in horrifying clarity: yellowed fangs, glowing red eyes, muscles rippling under scarred, chemically-enhanced hide. The corporate hound was bigger than any natural Echo, twisted by their experiments into something monstrous. Kael was frozen mid-step, eyes black with the failsafe, his body betraying him at the worst possible second.

Water dripped down his chest, each drop tracing the lines of carved muscle that looked like someone sculpted him from stone. Broad shoulders. Deep-cut abs. A V-line that should’ve been illegal. My mouth literally fell open. Xavier leaned lazily against the doorframe, arms crossed, towel tightening around his waist. A slow, sinful smirk curved his lips. “Looking for me, sweetheart?”

The beast, which had to be close to thirty feet long with dark scales, and now he could see, three faces, reared up all of its ugly heads and tried to fight against his blast, but it couldn’t escape, and Cutter spoke the incantation that would destroy it. Before he could even relish in the small victory, another beast began an attack on the church, followed by two more, with three closing in on the other side. He could see Ivy’s vines spring out of her hands as the ground began to shake. Rider was also engaged, and Sky’s first line, the one that was supposed to be there as a perimeter, was forced to move in to hold them off.

He opened the mouth of the dead boar using his boots, where a small, white sphere appeared on top of its tongue. Arth took the core and placed it on his jar, containing half-filled white spheres from the C-class beasts he had slain earlier. However, it had been almost two hours and he never found a B-class beast yet. Time was running out and he would have lesser chances of winning if he could not collect a red core. “Where’re those damn beasts?” Arth muttered a curse as he continued his hunt, leaving the dead body of the boar on the snowy ground.

The Beast moved in the clearing with the slow, coiled deliberateness of something that could shatter mountains if the inclination ever arrived, and its eyes held that amber glow that was not quite fire but carried fire's particular talent for making everything around it feel suddenly fragil

The beast stopped moving altogether. Levi was unsatisfied to have come here in vain. He provocatively said, “We’re here to hunt for treasures, you puny thing! If you’re so persistent, I’ll have someone dig up this mountain.” The beast suddenly opened its ferocious mouth. Its entire body was shrouded in darkness, forming a complete disguise. When it opened its mouth, it looked utterly horrifying.

The door on Carrie’s side of the car springs open first, and Beau, in human form, grabs her by the arm and yanks her out of her seat. She topples down into the dirt of the construction site. Archer hops off the hood of the car. Through the windows, I can see Neil and Steven, also in wolf form, circling around her.
