THIRD PERSON POV: As the chant of the witches echoed in the air, Hazel and Bella stood close to the rock. Halle stood nearby with her hands raised as she reinforced the protective barrier. “Are you both ready?” Halle asked the two, and they glanced at each other, nodding. They each bit their palms, letting blood drip onto the surface of the rock. The ground trembled as the stone absorbed their blood. A surge of energy rippled outward, and for a moment, it seemed like they had succeeded. But then a chilling laugh echoed through the air, freezing them in place.

Bo says, looking up at the sky. Iselyn and I help Delia gather the children, while Gray, Bo and the elders get to work setting everything and everyone into place before the moon reaches its peak. When Delia and the children are gone and the rest of the pack is chained to the trees, Gray and Bo take Iselyn and I a little farther out than the rest. “You’ll be okay,” Gray tells me, as he locks the thick metal clamp around my neck. I only nod in response. Much harder than I hope too.

Suddenly they stopped. “Huh? What’s the matter?” She looked up at him. “Sir, Ma’am.. Look up.” The old lady said. Heather slowly raised her head. Her pupils shrank. Mistletoe! Her breath hitched in her throat. It was as if her neck became stiff, she couldn’t move it. “You may pass–but you have to kiss..” The old lady said. “Well–that’s what she said.” His lips curved up in a bright smile.

Before the woman could even react, Patrick shoved her aside impatiently. "Enough already. Get lost. You're just here to leech off the traffic from my livestream." Straightening his tailored suit with an exaggerated poise, he turned back to the camera. "Everything's clear now. This woman bought her ticket from some no-name lottery shack in some backwater village. Obviously, she got scammed." His words did not spark relief among our classmates and lecturers. Instead, they looked regretful.

muttered Hagen, who turned off his screen device when he saw Camellia about to pull the hem on her white t-shirt to change clothes, right inside her bedroom. Hagen placed the flat object on his seat, right next to his body. Now, his focus is on the trees and buildings along the road. “They’re not as complicated as your own family, boss,” Frank added, to which Hagen responded with a low laugh. “Well, you’re right, at least her family wasn’t labeled as a murderous and disastrous family by the rest of the population in the Lancester,” Hagen muttered, to which every corner of his lips curled faintly.

The hedge maze seemed to beckon her forward like it was the embrace of an eternal friend, and with nothing but a drugged gaze, she submit and walked inside. The entrance was marked by two white pillars hinting at Roman influences. Her hand fanned across the evergreen hedges, their alpine needles tracing the crevices of her palm and fingers. The heat of the sun caressed her skin at the repetitive angle over the tall hedges and it seemed to cast away all the chaotic thoughts fighting for dominance and attention.

When they reach the end of the hallway, their path was blocked by a metre-long rusty gate but its lock seems to have been cut smoothly. Ariadne pushes the gate open and continue to lead Eve out of the castle and into the dark forest. Only the light of the moon shines bright upon their path. Before they were able to go further, a hoarse cry came from Ariadne and Eve was shock to see an arrow with silver tip penetrate Ariadne’s body that it ended up coming out to the front.

It left huge drops of ashes on its trails and let out a deep bass growl whenever he sniffed the air. My desperate search caught sight of the repellent hedges. They were mostly browned, dead, and without blossoms. The hedges were the only fencing the mansion had. "I do, actually," she replied. "You do? Great!!" I exclaimed. It was such a relief. "It knows we're here. It can smell us. We shouldn't let it reach the door." Poppa said, heading for the door. "So what's the plan?" "We have less time to talk or plan. We simply improvise. You could make for the flower plants, fetch us a stem we could use to end it."

Chapter 4: Playing the Part Jake leaned against the counter of his coffee shop, his fingers drumming restlessly against the polished wood. It was early morning, yet the usual comforting aroma of freshly brewed espresso and warm pastries did little to soothe his nerves. Outside, the press was swarming like vultures, cameras flashing as soon as any movement was detected inside. A few brave customers had attempted to slip through the chaos, but most turned away, unwilling to deal with the circus outside. The sudden media attention was overwhelming, and Jake couldn’t shake the feeling that his once simple life had taken a sharp, irreversible turn.

Every Rogue was holding a gleaming silver blade in their hands. Rays of light streaming from the crowns of the trees glinted off the metal, sending chills down my spine. They didn't give me a chance to run, closing in from front and back, blocking every escape. "Claire! What are you doing?" I snarled. "Making you disappear, forever!" Claire's eyes burned with hatred as she edged closer with her blade. "Once you're gone, they'll come back to me!"
