Carlos blinked, but then in the next moment his grip on my arm loosened, and I wasted no time, breaking out of the crowd and running towards Hector, who was punching a now eerily silent Xavier.
He drew his arm back. “This is for thinking I would ever let you—”
Before it could make contact, I rushed over to place a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
In a split second, Hector whipped around to face me, snarling as sharp claws shot out of his nail beds while his canines broke through his gums.
