“Oh, I do,” Derek said without hesitation. “There’s something thrilling about watching someone fall apart slowly… piece by piece.”
Carlos let out a quiet chuckle. “Careful. You sound exactly like me.”
“Maybe that’s not such a bad thing,” Derek replied, a playful smile tugging at his lips.
Carlos laughed, deep and rough, leaning back in his chair again. “Maybe not. But remember—there’s always a difference between control and chaos. You might want to control, but me…” He trailed off, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “I enjoy the chaos.”
